How did we go from "don't trust everything on Wikipedia" to "just ask an AI"?

I'm calling it: "Start smoking" is going to be mainstream MAHA / Republican health advice by 2028. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)
There is NOTHING in the National CANADIAN interest in these pipelines and other related projects. Why is Canada using TAXPAYER $$ to pay for a project that NO PRIVATE COMPANY will invest in, but many private companies will reap the rewards from? WHY? This is blatant corporate welfare.
Deliberately worsening the global climate crisis that's raging ever further out of control to temporarily benefit foreign oil industry shareholders is Mark Carney's personal definition of "in the national interest." This is ecocidal anti-leadership. 1/ environmentaldefence.ca/2026/08/04/p...
I think Alberta should follow Republican state South Carolina in adopting the law that allows people on bikes to observe stop signs like a yield sign. Why isn’t that question on Dreeshen’s online survey?🤷♂️ #yycBike #yegBike
'Stop as Yield’ bicycle bill turns into a South Carolina law. What does this mean for cyclists?
South Carolina has passed the “Stop as Yield” bicycle bill into a law. This law changes how bicyclists approach intersections.

Post-amalgamation Ottawa is paralyzed by its exurbs. Our capital city held hostage by people who don’t interact with the city, don’t want to pay taxes to support city services, and drive everywhere for every trip.
I haven’t lived in #ottawa for very long and genuine question: What is 1 single thing that the city has done in the past 20 yrs that was bold and innovative? 1 thing. 1 thing it led on and didn’t wait for 17 yrs of data for Mentioning the NCC doesn’t count, also cuz Tierney will have a meltdown
This morning’s breakfast conversation: ”Daddy why is there smoke?“ “Because there are wildfires on the mainland” ”Why are there fires?” “Because we have burned too much gasoline, diesel, and natural gas that heat the atmosphere, dry the land, making it more likely to burn“. 1/2

The world is full of people who insist "AI is changing everything" but who - when pressed - have to admit that what they mean is that they're pretty sure that AI *will* change everything. Eventually. After we allow it to consume all the planet's energy, carbon, water and financial resources. 8/

Most of this city absolutely hates the part of he city that could and should be its own city and doesn’t want to pay the requisite taxes so they can keep the proximity to the amenities a city has. It’s so fucking dumb

Love drone footage of new builds in exurban Texas, gives me a very particular kind of dread to look at that is hard to replicate with other photos.
The tricky thing is it has become much hard to tell the difference between expensive *looking* and expensive *quality*. Many name brands that used to mean quality are now owned by private equity cutting corners and extracting profits.
This is an actual conspiracy, not a conspiracy theory. Some of the replies and quotes show people who don't read. General Motors and related companies were actually convicted of doing this.
Is everyone aware of the General Motors streetcar conspiracy? In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.

I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

Car-blindness is real! Psychologists or sociologists should study this. Giant two-ton boxes flying all around us, piloted by people who have been rendered psychopaths, regularly injuring & killing our neighbors, and many/most people just ... don't register it. It's just background noise.
I was talking to my neighbor when a group of cyclists came by at maybe 25 mph. “That’s so dangerous,” she exclaimed. In the meantime, quite a few drivers came by at 40 mph, and she’s completely unfazed. 🤦🏻♂️
According to anti-cyclist replies, here's evidence that cars and bikes are equally dangerous: 🚗: They kill ~40000 people in the US annually 🚲: I saw a cyclist run a red light 30 years ago
