Dad, dog owner, cycling, football, and coffee nerd. Increasingly interested in Belgian beer and cobbles. My motto: always give 100%. Unless you are giving blood. You’ll probably find me on my allotment.

Interesting way to start our family holiday in Menorca. My wife went for a run, tripped on some rough ground and fell. I therefore spent this morning with her in a very efficient Menorcan A & E department. Can you tell which one is the before and which one after? She’s fine now. Diazepam kicked in.

I am guessing that it's probably quite calm and quiet on Alpe d'Huez at the moment. Just someone reading a book and a few people sipping a cup of tea and listening to bird song.

I am not saying that the England team for the Commonwealth games is a bit threadbare but I have just had a call from Seb Coe asking me to get to Sports Direct asap and buy some running spikes and to keep the receipt to claim them on expenses.

Looking for a loving companion. Someone to share the good times and the bad. Mostly just the bad times tbf because when things are good, that's when I like to do my own thing.

I am wondering whether to try to get tickets to see the Odyssey but I don't know if I can trust myself to not sing "he's coming home he's coming home Odysseus is coming home" to the tune of Three Lions. Maybe I should wait till I can watch it at home.

the thing is, the furore about Vingegaard and Pogacar being woken in the night for doping tests- they should have been in their 50s and so they'd probably be up having a pee when the testers arrived so it wouldn't have been a problem.
