This is the funniest thing I've seen today, possibly ever

Started the day by jumping through bureaucratic hoops to get my family protected against harmful illnesses. Then came to campus to be inundated by rage-baiting political demonstrators holding signs with disturbing images on them. Can't this just be a Friday?

Does everyone find bands like Fleetwod Mac, America, and Steely Dan to be very cozy, or is it highly dependent on your dad?

"Hold the Line" by Toto just came on at our house and my daughter went over and said "Alexa, VOLUME UP!" so I'm feeling pretty good about that.

Probably not the right audience here, but I'm a fantasy football commissioner and our returning champ is choosing to keep Lamar Jackson. In the group chat, I wrote "Quoth the Raven, 'Let’s run it back' or something like that." and I can't believe nobody laughed. I don't get any funnier than that.

It is too early in the semester for my eye to be twitching.

An emoji has a coded description that gets read aloud by screen readers. Putting emoji in between text could cause confusion or make content less clear. It's best to put emoji at the end of written content.

I’m raising funds for earthquake relief efforts in Colombia. I have some of my pix on RedBubble and all proceeds of all sales go to victims. If RedBubble is problematic, I’d love to know, too. Also, will add pix you like from here or from instagram. Same username everywhere.

I once worked at a university that gutted an entire (very popular and useful) learning center and replaced it with two guys who would teach you how to host blogs. every student had to have a blog. Every single one. Our syllabus had to mention blogs. We had to teach WITH blogs.

Shoutout to all the educational developers out there who are ethically, morally, and practically motivated to discuss the impact of AI on education, despite their personal dislike or apathy toward the tools. Bonus shoutout to those who are being painted as "pushing AI" by faculty who don't like it.

The University of Michigan will replace traditional letter grades for some first-semester freshmen with a pass/fail-style grade, to encourage students to try different classes and lessen fears of what a low grade could mean.

New Faculty Orientation begins today at App State. It's my second favorite thing to do in this job. A wide range of experience (1st day in academia to 30th year), backgrounds, and nationalities all in one room just trying to get acclimated to this new job/institution.

I had to search multiple counties to find a stick shift when I had to replace my old beloved corolla (stick shift, crank windows and manual locks) after an encounter with a deer. So demoralizing.

I don't care about baseball very much but I thought Manny Flowers was too good not to share.
