I was in the grocery store yesterday, buying South African lemons, because I refuse to buy American produce. I vividly remember the days when Canadians boycotted South African fruit and wine, to protest apartheid. Now, the world’s turned upside down.

the CBC-vs-Sanders fight has been there since at least 2020 but is really spilling into the open now.
Iran and Oman have reportedly agreed that all ships transiting Hormuz have to go through an Iran-controlled corridor, and are finalizing tolls of 3, 5, or 7%. This would close off the path outside Iranian waters the US encouraged ships to use during the MOU, then started bombing again to keep open.

It may not be surprising, but it's nevertheless sad to see a Canadian newspaper trumpet Washington's call to demolish the #ICC, and siding with impunity for Putin, Netanyahu, and the Taliban. This is now part of the right's firmament, along with anti-trans politics and Residential School denialism.

This refers to the executive branch position that prior congressional authorization is only required for hostilities amounting to "war" in the "constitutional sense" due to nature, scope, & duration. Neither Congress nor courts have endorsed this view. And Congress rejected it in the 1973 WPR.
