The air quality is so bad here with the wildfires that we're being told not to be outdoors for more than a few minutes without a mask. It's definitely choking me, giving me a pulsing headache, and it's hard to breathe. We have 2 air filter fans going in the house to tamp it down.
It’s worth noting that Taco Bell identified the source before the FDA did, and promptly pulled it from their stores. The FDA didn’t even name the source until Taylor Farms outed themselves, and hasn’t issued a recall. Basically, Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA.

100 pages in, Jordan Harper's A VIOLENT MASTERPIECE is living up to the hype so far. Crackles with energy and outrage and loaded with vibrant characters. Reads a little like James Ellroy updated for the modern age, with all sorts of thinly veiled jabs at real-life scoundrels like Max Landis.

This is pretty well known, but the Australian flag Sam Neill wore on his uniform in Event Horizon was designed at his request to show the Union Jack replaced with the Aboriginal flag, because he hoped in the future this is how it would actually look. A proper fucken ally in every way, this bloke.

Hmm. In olden days, I liked when novelizations had bits that weren't in the movie, but this sounds like too much change for my taste. Sometimes ideas that were dropped were dropped for good reason. Give me Tarantino's screenplay over this any day.

Periodic reminder that if you don't like writing, you don't have to do it. By which I mean find another hobby, not outsource the writing you claim to be doing.
This happened to me with the 2013 Evil Dead, House of 1000 Corpses, and also the example cited here, Blackcoat's Daughter. Was lukewarm to it the first time years ago, but now I love it.
