it’s funny to make fun of people who vibecode too close to the sun and have products that burn customers’ money or have deleted databases or whatever, but i just find it sad to look at the opposite of people who don’t make anything ever and yet use their free time to just whine about slopcode

It's often uneasy for me to share my experiences as a woman in tech, but this job market has me worried for everyone stuck somewhere harmful. I admire everyone who takes on "women in tech" speaking gigs but I am also angry for them and us. ohhelloana.blog/woman-in-tec...

It's 2026 and women are still asked to teach others to think a little bit and not be a prick

A while back I went to a tech meet-up and one of the talks was about being a woman in tech and I am finally ready to put into words why I sat through it so uncomfortably.

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque: "This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

Bronze plaque saying "A Letter to the Future. Ok is the first Icelandic glacier to lose its status as a glacier. In the next 200 years all our glaciers are expected to follow the same path. This monument is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it. August 2019. 415ppm CO2"

Is there no way in Zig to do a for-loop over a range in reverse? I just wanna do `for (0..N) |i| { ... }` but in decreasing order, i.e. (N-1, ..., 1, 0).

Doing AoC with Zig this year. It's going pretty good so far. Zig has been on my radar for a while, finally got an excuse to properly dig into it.

A screenshot that shows that I got the gold stars for the first two days. The timer is showing 14 hours left for the third day's challenge.
