Trying to decide what irritates me more at the gym: People sitting on a machine scrolling / texting at length or cute couples flirting with each other but not actually using the machine.
Lots of people genuinely suffered during Covid, but if your big trauma was that you had to wear a cloth over your face, or you could only eat on the restaurant‘s outdoor patio, or you couldn’t see Wonder Woman 1984 in a theater, please shut the fuck up.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.
