Ok. We all had our day to talk shit and be angry. But it's Wednesday now and I'd love to encourage the kidlit community to focus on our real fight. There are now 2 book banning bills introduced on the federal level. 7661, which we largely know about but now 2616, too. It's call your reps o'clock!

Earlier this week, the ALA released their 2025 Most Challenged Books Report. Thought top books are the headline, this is the data point that stands out to me, "92 percent of all book challenges were initiated by pressure groups, government officials and decision makers" not parents or teachers.

ICE has violated almost 100 court orders. Let me say that another way. 100 times ICE was caught brazenly ignoring the law. 100 times a court told them to immediately stop. And 100 times they ignored the order. That's an out-of-control agency that shouldn't get another dime.
