I don't know whose idea it was to have mathemetician @3blue1brown.com give a keynote at #config2026, a conference for designers (stereotypically decidedly non-mathematical folks) but that person needs a raise. Freaking genius.

Hanging out waiting for the #config2026 opening keynote to start - I've only been to a couple conferences that weren't Tableau, and never as a local attendee, so this is a fun, interesting, and new experience. If you're also here, hit me up!

Two party outfits for #TC25 after dark, days 1 and 2! #TC25OOTD Party #1 was a last-minute event for me so I had to improvise and do some wardrobe remixing with components from the outfit for Party #2 (tonight's!) CC @christinagorga.bsky.social
It’s Day 2, outfit #1 of the day for opening Keynote and community meetups. #TC25OOTD Giving my Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66s a test drive this week.
An interesting color choice for a fake company, #tc25. Why purple, green, and blue?? #accessibilityfail
Come to my #TC25 talk Relationships vs Joins vs Blends at 2:00 on Stage 7! I'll show you how to configure each method, demo how they shape data differently, and talk through the pros and cons of each approach. If you can't make it today, there will be a repeat session Wednesday at 9:30 on Stage 8.
What's up #TC25! In keeping with @christinagorga.bsky.social's tradition, here's my #TC25OOTD number 1, which I rocked at Data+Tacos this afternoon, and then at Data+Women this evening. Looking forward to a great conference! 🎉
I've had a great time the last couple of days at #INFORMS Analytics+ 2025 in Indianapolis! I was asked by an old college friend to give a talk. It was my very first conference presentation so I was really nervous, but as a BIG bonus, my brother attended this conference with me! It's been awesome!
Some people think today is Pi Day. Although the more accurate Pi Day is 22nd July (22/7), in honour of those who can't wait, here's one of my π visualisations from a few years ago (replicating an artwork on display in the University of Cambridge from James Holleyhead in 2003) 😊

Must a data visualisation expert have read data visualisation books? How many data visualisation books have you read?
Here’s a list of rhetorical patterns and common catch phrases of the conspiracy theorist. I’m hearing this kind of thing from unusual places these days: 1️⃣ Claims of hidden knowledge: "what they don't want you to know," "connect the dots," "do your own research."
How do academics keep a running tally of papers that are useful / memorable / potentially citable in the future? Any tips or tricks?

If You Rolled Colorado Out Into A Brownie, How Big Would It Be?
Science suggests it would be very, very, large. And still, somehow, probably larger than you think.
