I spoke at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting today in Tyler Texas to oppose the construction of a planned bitcoin mining data center less than a mile from our newly renovated downtown square, which is currently zoned to be an arts and culture district. The committee denied the request!

"In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."

1. Major news. Mayor Mamdani has just announced $15 million in direct funding for trans youth care providers, the most concrete action his administration has taken since receiving significant criticism over its handling of trans youth. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Mayor Mamdani Announces $15 Million For Youth Care Providers In NYC

The funding will go to clinics that provide trans youth care, and could help fight back against federal pressure.

Talarico: I was required by law to report any indication there was abuse at home, and I would hope that the top law enforcement official in Texas would be held to the same standard as a middle school teacher. Ken Paxton had the opportunity to protect a child, but instead he protected a predator

The Iran national team is already in Tijuana, where they have arrived with pins on their clothing bearing the number 168, in memory of the 168 girls who died in the American bombing of the Minab school on Feb 28. Ffs this is gonna be a massive shit show on their first match in the US i can feel it

FIFA President Infantino gave Mexican President Sheinbaum ticket number 00001 to the World Cup opening match. Sheinbaum gave it to Yolett Cuaquehua, a 21-year-old Indigenous woman from Veracruz. Sheinbaum will watch the game in the Zocalo, the public central square in Mexico City, with the people.

i think Democrats shoot ourselves in the foot a lot by not considering scale. This number of people looks impressive and it is, but it means nothing unless you give the context of what Talarico really needs to win. Kamala taught us vibes ≠ turnout and big crowds can be distraction from deeper truth

James Talarico draws huge crowds in disgraced, Ken Paxton’s district. This is TEXAS, and it’s looking like Texans may vote a Democrat in, as a U.S. Senator from Texas.

Not gonna lie, this is a badass museum donation. 🇺🇸 Shonda Rhimes donated the Oval Office set from Scandal, the same one fictional President Fitzgerald Grant called home for seven seasons. Now it’s part of the Obama Presidential Center Museum

Ken Paxton was indicted for scamming his own friends. He convinced them to invest hundreds of thousands in a company while secretly pocketing a commission. Paxton sold out his own friends for a quick buck. What makes you think he won't sell you out in the Senate?

Today we remember the victims, survivors and lasting impact of the Tulsa Race Massacre, one of the darkest chapters in Oklahoma’s history. Honoring their memory means continuing the work of building communities rooted in tolerance, inclusion and justice for all.

i think this is one of the most defining issues of this cycle to show if the Democratic party finally understands its base. If we fail to hear rural voters on this and use it as a lever to build momentum around indigenous-led land management we might be missing the best chance we’ve ever had.

I repeat: People Aren't Stupid. Voters in Virginia have turned sharply against data centers, with the share of those who would be comfortable with construction of a new data center in their community plunging to 35%, with worries that the projects are a scourge on the environment and utility bills.

Harvard is absolutely ruining their own graduation ceremony blasting sirens at the protestors outside the yard like the noise will just stop at the gates and not completely drown out the speakers 😡

Today marks six years since George Floyd was murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis. George was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His life mattered and he should still be here.

BREAKING: SB 2471 has been signed into law! It’s the first of its kind in the nation and renders the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision irrelevant in Hawaii. This is a win for the movement to get big money, especially dark money, out of politics.

New Hawaii law targets corporate influence in politics after Citizens United ruling

Hawaii's Democratic governor has signed a bill to curb corporate and "dark money" influence in politics. This move comes after the 2010 U.S.
