Dan Tehan was pathetic in his interview on data centres on Radio National. Energy use of DCs 'should be a matter for the developers', lets use gas for data centres, 'developers should decide what energy they use'. 'There should be no restrictions on the type of energy used'.

'1/2 of all trees surveyed were dead, most with signs of dieback.' The loss of the snow gums will be as significant as loss of the Gt Barrier Reef. But we just got 2 more knockbacks from enviro funders - we can't get anyone interested in funding this issue. themountainjournal.com/2026/08/03/s...

On the weekend we surveyed a small section of snow gum forest on Mt Stirling as part of our efforts to have these trees listed as threatened under federal env laws. The scale of loss due to dieback was shocking (altho' was only 1k trees, so small data set). themountainjournal.com/2026/08/03/s...

omg, that interview between Barnaby Joyce and Sarah Ferguson reminded me of the Neil meme. He is unhinged, and can't even do a normal TV interview without losing his shit. Why would anyone trust him with a key position running the country?

I have walked past this tree for years. It was burnt in the 2013 fires, survived, was impacted by dieback, then got blown down in a storm, taking rocks with its roots as it fell. Then the surviving branch grew shoots, now becoming the new trunk. A good reminder of nature's resilience.
