I didn't like the latest Strange New Worlds episodes, but I will keep watching because I don't know when to quit. And no, the problem with the last episode wasn't that it was horror. Trek can do horror well (see also: DS9's Empok Nor). It's that it was pointless, uninteresting, and led nowhere.

The first screenshot shows the main content (below their mission statement of sorts), the second is a snippet from the latest missive. None of these centers have failed because they are propped up by mandated state funding or huge donor gifts
Academia is classic game and metagame. The ‘game’ is acquiring skills and knowle by dge so you can produce a paper , the metagame is ‘producing a paper’ and that’s all you’re marked on, hence cheating and shortcutting that means you win the metagame while opting out of the game.

"The point of writing a paper is to have a good final product" is something believed by people who paid others to write their papers but somehow they run universities now
