The federal minimum wage has been stuck at a paltry $7.25 an hour since 2009. Guess how much the wage would be today if it kept up with worker productivity over the years?

I'm resting after spreading a bunch of wood chips where we needed a better pathway. I've got sourdough that's refusing to really rise much, probably because it's a little too cold in here, and dinner to get started. It's not going to be fancy, but hopefully it'll taste good. #HomesteadLife

I'm rather proud of my disabled self today. I managed a shower, a trip to the grocery store for a few things (the prices are insane!), and I made dinner (though my husband helped a bit). Just waiting for it now... I hurt so bad, but it was worth it all just to feel a bit normal for once. #Disabled

Today is Indigenous Peoples Day – a time to honor the 11 sovereign Tribal Nations and robust urban Native communities that continue to enrich our state’s cultural landscape, economy, and heritage.   It was a beautiful morning to celebrate on the shore of Bde Maka Ska.

Long weekend, and I didn't get half my to do list done. Today has been an awful pain day, and I only got the new sourdough starter fed and a loaf baked. I mixed up the sourdough pancake batter, but my husband made dinner. I overdid it in the garden yesterday and still have so much to do there. 🌱

Few patients appeal a health insurance denial, but a little-known process that requires insurers and plans to seek an independent opinion can force insurers to pay for what can be lifesaving treatment. Here’s what experts say you need to know.

Even if there were, they're all incompatible with good order & discipline. An Army of Hegseth's isn't a hyper-lethal Army, it's an Army of ignoramuses, drunks, discipline cases, & walking zipper malfunctions. Which is exactly the Hegseth make, model, & type. 8/

I haven't felt like coming up with my own design in ages until I saw this Cautiva yarn from Spain in the yarn shop by my daughter's home. Hopefully, these mitts will turn out okay. #knitting Thankfully, I have a copy of Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns. It's the best! Worth every penny.

On top of my lap covered by a pink and blue afghan I got at an estate sale for a pittance (shame, for the crocheter did an amazing job), my graph paper, black Moleskine, and knitting on top of that.

The graph paper has writing on it and then a graph of a duck on top of waves. The knitting is dark and light teal with the dark teal ribbing and then a dark teal, light teal Latvian braid on white Bryspun dpns.

I can’t believe I’m watching interviews of city mayors talking about how they are coordinating with other mayors to discuss how to protect their residents FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES I know we are “used to it” but it is absolutely insane

Can't sleep from pain, but we've so very badly needed this rain. The flock is up and upset this morning. Well, Squeaker is upset. The rest have calmed down a bit after all getting through the fence and heading out to forage, leaving Squeaker behind. Poor Squeaker. I can't get to her yet.
