Students from more than 200 high schools across Colorado walked out of school Friday afternoon to protest federal immigration enforcement. Some clashed with pro-ICE counterprotesters in Denver's La Alma-Lincoln Park.

Glassdoor has a very revealing report out on worker sentiment regarding AI. Workers' attitudes towards AI have grown increasingly negative, and extremely so in certain fields. This is happening as adoption is scaling, and workers have had *more* exposure. The more they use it, the less they like it.

If you want 1.5C, 1.8C, 2C, overshoot, no-overshoot, etc, then they all require the same thing: rapid short-term emission reductions reaching net zero CO2 emissions as soon as possible. This has been clear from the IPCC Special Report on 1.5C, which depicts "overshoot" on its cover! 1/

During grad school, we’d say that climate change is happening, but we can’t definitively say it’s due to humans (even though we were pretty sure it was). It might be technically correct to say that we can’t definitively say what happened in Nepal/Tibet is due to climate change, but really, we can.

I talked to a man who got stuck in an elevator, a wheelchair user who had to go on his balcony and shout to ask for food, a woman who had to sleep in her chair because she couldn't use her COPD machine. The crisis in Gary is the product of structural neglect and racism, but also climate change.

At the center of my message to faculty yesterday was: 1.) We may not be adequately prepared for how angry students are about tech. 2.) They are not all angry for the same reasons. 3.) Being angry at it doesn’t mean they aren’t using it. The sense of entrapment fuels the anger.
