Anyway. Data politics are the cataclysmic danger. AI is mostly just a mid tech attached to a speculative finance scheme. Anything it can make dangerous is already dangerous enough to kill us.

Actually, idea: @carlquintanilla.bsky.social next time you have one of these guys on CNBC who says stuff like this, can you ask them to... be specific? Like how? How is AI going to "Destroy humanity?" I want to know details. I legit only trust you to do have these guys on your show and ask them.
Aside from who started it, states like CA and VA putting a counter-gerrymander up to a referendum, where people are told and can make a decision on the context for why it's being done, has vastly more democratic legitimacy than state legislators rushing it through because they got bullied by POTUS.
This is such a weird way to talk about most of these places, which are not small-ish cities unto themselves but wealthy, close-in suburbs of regional megacities. Alpharetta, for example, is directly north of Atlanta and made entirely out of office parks and luxury car dealerships
Thinking of saying goodbye to big-city life? In these smaller U.S. metros, job opportunities abound and a higher quality of life awaits, according to a new study. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/19/r...
We need to: ✅ overturn Citizens United ✅ ban Congressional stock trading ✅ get dark money out of politics To get corporate influence out of our politics and return it to the people.
things every single republican president of your lifetime has done - started a war in the middle east - completely destroyed the economy
I don’t think he code switched once, for real. Respect. 🫡
“Independent” is doing too much work in this first wave. They are arresting journalists and just like everything else they’ve done, they’re testing the limits of our resistance by starting wt vulnerable margins.
Kavanaugh Stops evolve into Kavanaugh Home Invasions. Yet not one Democrat has filed articles to impeach that drunk frat boy disgrace.
In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing. You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics. That is all.

Democratic leadership has been trying to go back to the Clinton era when they should’ve been building on the Obama coalition. Socially, culturally, demographically, and politically, we, as a society, are not who we were in the Clinton era. Leadership has to move forward. bsky.app/profile/jlee...
My belief is that republicans freaked out when Obama was elected because his election was the first one that they couldn't prevent. Obama got LESS of the white vote in 2012 and STILL won. Dems don't need a majority of the white vote to win nationally, so they should stop chasing it so much.
It’s the racism, for sure. But I have also wondered if there is a certain bias I don’t have a name for — like, his natural athleticism makes him read as an action star even when he is doing drama?? So (especially white out-of-touch) voters don’t see him as an actor? Or it’s just the racism.
Every once in a while I remember Michael B. Jordan hasn't even been NOMINATED for an Oscar yet. It's ridiculous. He's one of the best actors and biggest stars of his generation.
We live in a racist country and have racists who sit on the Supreme Court, making racist decisions that impact 350 million people for decades. First they abolish the New Deal; then they abolish the Great Society - just so White men can stay in power. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/15/u...
So the Dem establishment has NO response to the blatant crisis that is happening with the FCC, Sinclair and ABC?? Nothing to say at all??
Watching all these centrist pundits stress the “civility” of Charlie Kirk’s style without addressing the ugliness of his substance is giving me a renewed appreciation of how the civil, polite White Citizens’ Councils conned the same crowd into thinking they were distinct from the cruder Klan.
I want you all to just watch how quickly mainstream media moves on from this story now.
This is class solidarity. In case you’re at all confused.
look at my FBI director dawg we are never finding this man
Going to mute his name, but Maya Angelou told us the importance of words. “Words are things…be careful about calling people out of their names, using racial pejoratives and sexual pejoratives and all that ignorance…words…get on the walls. in your wallpaper. in your rugs, and finally in to you"
Here are some things that Charlie Kirk said in his life. The man is dead, and so it only seems fair to share his legacy by cataloguing the values he spread while alive.
Over 300K Black women have lost their jobs. That's a huge story with wild consequences for the economy. Your first priority as a progressive org should be to hire some goddamn Black women.
Okay. I just came back to this and you aren’t calling these efforts resegregation yet, you absolutely should be
Black women have every right to be furious. The irresponsible choices of white voters has for many of us, taken our livelihood with consequences for our homes, the education of our children, our ability to care for parents. It’s unconscionable. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/31/u...
20 mostly white private academies, all founded in the 1960s and 1970s, brought in more than $20 million from North Carolina in three years. None reflected the demographics of their communities. Few even came close. (Published Nov. 2024)

The single most important thing to understand about digital futurism is this: When the digital future that Sam Altman ( or Elon, or Andreessen, etc) predicts fails to materialize, he doesn’t have to give the money back.
