The law to remove the two-child limit has received Royal Assent! This is an important first step in driving down child poverty. It'll give millions of kids a better today & brighter tomorrow. Protecting kids from poverty is the right thing to do & lays the foundations for a stronger country.

I have been watching, reading and listening intently over the last few days as Autistic people and the wider autism community dissect Autistic Barbie. Here are the things that have stood out to me the most about Mattel's newest doll.

Mattel Launches First Autistic Barbie Doll

On January 11th, Mattel launched the first Autistic Barbie doll, designed in collaboration with the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network. Featuring unique articulation and accessories for autistic representation, the doll aims to celebrate diversity. While it has received positive feedback, some concerns regarding stereotypes and representation have also emerged.

Nadim Zahawi arrived in the UK from Iraq as a child refugee. His family claimed asylum once they were here. Today he has joined Reform who will stop all in country asylum applications. Under his new party, his own family fleeing persecution would be immediately deported.

My only thought for the Bluesky arrivals notice board is “it’s ok to repost more often.” [my understanding is the algorithms (if there are any) don’t pick up on ‘likes’ in the same way as old Twitter. A ‘like’ is lovely, but a *manual* repost is the primary ‘algorithm’ to actively share something]
