It is an actual cultural crime that this wasn't picked up.
Over a year ago, we built a prototype for a new Myst Universe game meant for publisher eyes only. This project is NOT in active development, but we're proud of the work the team did, and wanted to share it with you all. Presenting: Project Anglerfish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvNGt02yZNc
Alright UE5 folks... help me figure out why this is happening to this poor guy's glasses from a WIP personal project? Looks like second image in Blender. More in thread (pls read + don't assume I haven't done certain things!) -->
welp I thought a panner node would work for blinking for this personal project, but, uh.... in its current state, it Does Not
🎮🌟 Excited to announce that I'll be starting as a Lead 3D Artist/Art Lead at Vinci Games tomorrow! I'm thrilled to continue working in games in the VR space, and to have the opportunity to participate in both direct 3D art creation + art direction🎮🌟
Hi there, nice to see you. Professional craftsperson here to say: THE VALUE IS ABSOLUTELY IN CREATING A PERFECT FLOWER POT YOU WEIRD GARGOYLE (1/?)
what if blender had ui sounds. i think having software make noise makes it more tactile and engaging. maybe ill make a whole addon for it
Been trying out lots of demos during Steam Next Fest and this one stands out - love this art direction (especially the 2D portraits!). Entropy: store.steampowered.com/app/4585480/...
Great tips here; this one especially resonated with me! We’re making illusions here :)
17: always ask yourself "what is the minimum resources I need to sell the illusion?". Game assets are models of reality, not simulations. You don't need every toenail and boot lace. Think broad strokes. Focus on where players focus.
Heck yeah!!

Y'all. Please remember the artists that drew these things when sending around memes. I feel for these artists who NEVER get credited for these (and some, nowadays, are even being accused of being AI!) Here's a few common ones I see (feel free to add others, I want this to be a living thread): 🧵
IMPORTANT: For any artists/writers/etc etc, using Linktree to point people to their work, from 5 July, they'll be feeding all imagery you use on your landing page into DALL-E by OpenAI. I deleted my account this morning.
Some good friends of mine are working on this, so I've seen bits and pieces of this as it was being made but... look how good it looks now! I'm excited for thisssss 🚚

Yesterday I made a pixel art-style radish wall hanging for my kitchen probably? Gotta quilt it up but I thought it turned out cute

You learn so much from having a non-gamer playtest your tutorial.
I am listening to the Fez soundtrack while I work on the computer prop and it is an amazing soundtrack and perfect mood for this piece, highly recommend!!
Got everything set up in UE5 with some lighting - still got things to tweak on materials (I want more roughness variation in the wood, etc), but she lives! Now … what kind of scene should she live in for the renders? Maybe a desk like someone’s working on it? 🤔
Here’s a cleaner Wildwood promo pic, without all the text on it. It really gives you a sense of what the Landscapes department did. We hand made every asset you see here.
I've been taking an intro to jewelry-making class at a local industrial arts space (www.thecrucible.org) and here's the final silver ring I made for class! I always like learning more not-using-screens art forms so this was very cool to do
