This ADAPT OR DIE mentality is AI brain rot. Success in the future is being able to do what AI can't, or being able to do it better than AI ever could. Embracing it and letting it do the heavy lifting is defeatist mentality. And those artists will be the first to be replaced.

This is something I was proud of City of Ghosts for, released in 2021. It gave people good feelings and it encouraged kids to follow history from the people who lived it. It made people fill with feelings and had kids and their parents watching together. I’m forever grateful I got to make it.

see? here's the thing. A lot of people are like, the earth is fucked, it's beyond salvation, it's hit the tipping point, but time and time again we see that if we just fucking fixed the problem, it rebounds so incredibly fast. Imagine what could be done if people actually cared

I never remember anyone saying “Did you see the latest Reiner?” like you would hear with Spielberg, Cameron, etc. But undoubtedly made one of your favorite movies. He had a special eye for humanity that built cinematic cathedrals from small-scale stories like MISERY and WHEN HARRY MET SALLY.
