the mystery squash has climbed out of the pit, over the wall, and around the corner and now we have baby squash on the vine!!!

you shouldnt be able to livestream from your phone. you should have to be sitting in a room with a bunch of tacky LED lights everywhere and an ugly gamer chair
if people really want to debate the validity of certain classes of person in our society, I suggest we start with "irl streamers"
a cool thing about bluesky for the bluesky company is that because users have already opted into the service and leaving would incur a personal social or financial penalty, they can basically depend on the tech savvy userbase to handle explaining all of their stupid/baffling interface choices
I called WNET in NY to ask them to remove this video. I told them it was damaging to kids. You can call them, too! Call 212-560-1313 and press 2 to leave a message (the phone prompt seems to indicate 1, but that message directs you to 2). ny.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/ruf...

As a confirmed dopamine addict who has thrown myself off bridges and out of a plane in the past chasing some of that sweet stuff, I genuinely don't get it
Another thought: in his statement, Hank Green expressed quite a lot of shame about the "dopamine hit" he gets from using AI. As a non-AI user I don't really know what he's referring to here. Is the AI voice flattering him while also doing his job (presumably poorly)? Because that's big weird.
Having to live through people re-writing history 17 seconds after it happens is my least favorite part of living in 2026. And I know that’s always happened, but like. We had TV and internet in 2020. I KNOW you, personally, saw those morgue trucks. Why are you willing to be so transparently lied to??
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
the sheer amount of late summer/autumn retro aesthetic instagrams I'm immersing myself in lately. I do not give a shit about anything that is not on a porch at 7-8 pm with a cinnamon bun and a warm drink. I don't give a FUCK
I was sitting next to someone at dinner on Friday who told me when she was out with a friend, they said “don’t make it super obvious that you’re looking, but Leonard Cohen is sitting right behind you.”
Well this explains a lot
It is much more serious. Max Miller was PART of Jan 6. He was a trusted Trump aide in 2020; he helped plan the Jan 6 rally. He heard everything, knew it all. On Jan 6 he disappeared mid-rally as the violence over at the Capitol began, and never plausibly explained why. x.com/capitolhunte...
Im not allowed at the cintiq past 5pm. Bedtime is strict 10pm. He runs a tight ship.
I’m gonna be on vacation for a week, starting tomorrow... can’t wait to come back to this place and not be able to understand what anyone is talking about anymore
Well-made quality stuff costs more, but every time people see it, they complain. Food, clothes, appliances, pet treats, vacations and journalism too. Then I remember if I want something to exist, I have to spend money on it.
Anorexia can be lethal. I hope she gets the help she needs.
Ariana Grande to take ‘a step back’ from public life due to ‘endless, ongoing scrutiny’
Anti-vaxxers shouldn't feel comfortable speaking in public because of the threat of immediate ridicule.
When I got my first covid shot they thanked me for coming.
I got a flu booster today and it made me reflect on the sense of national accomplishment I felt when I drove to a public facility, waited in my car until my number was called on an app, and got my first covid jab. It's fucked the right gets to erase what a moment of technological liberation that was
A few months ago someone posted an article about the most useful/cool sites on the internet, I thought I saved it but I didn’t. Anyone have the link?
Do I want to know why everyone is talking about covid or should I just go outside. (My money is on something in the atlantic??)
Everytime I watch a video like that one I just watched of RFK losin’ his shit on CNN… I never expect how much it makes my body tense up, like I feel as if I’m the one trying to talk over him, you know what I mean?
among his other faults Ken Jennings is a practicing lifelong Mormon who did his Mission in Spain- Mormonism is a weird cult, no better than Scientology, and not a belief system I'd bless with my follow
should I… find out why people are talking about Covid lock downs again? I… feel like I’m going to find out anyway.
I don't really have the mental space to argue about Covid-19 lockdowns when 1) people still don't wear a mask on public transit or planes, especially while sick; or 2) wash their hands properly after using the bathroom. If you do have the time and energy, godspeed.
For related reasons, I avoid doing email on my phone.
Flip side: I hate typing on the phone to the point where I will go open up my computer if I have to write more than a paragraph. Additionally, I hate the flat laptop style keyboards because I can't feel them correctly.
I’m not sure what to do when I see AI being used in protest flyers and art. I see it in a lot of them, like no matter whether its for a left or right leaning cause. I’m not really able to give people a pass when I see it, even when it’s their side I agree with. IT SUCKS.
If you use chatgpt to make pictures of food for your restaurant ads I have to assume you are desperately hoping to collect on insurance when your restaurant burns down
