Fun fact: I wrote this, my first @theguardian.com article in years, weeks ago. I wasn't told it was published today, only found out because a belligerent stranger emailed me directly to call me a cretin for not recognising that overpopulation is the real problem Some things never change

There’s a surprisingly simple reason for England’s high antidepressant use: lots of people need them www.theguardian.com/... My latest article, for the... [checks notes] Guardian? Doesn't ring a bell, must be some new publication. #mentalhealth #antidepressants

Since it can be hard to believe that political and corporate elites would actively give up on our shared future on this singular planet, we made a short film so folks can hear from the end timers and judge for themselves. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Took a lot of risks in today’s set and it paid off. Best performance of my year, I’m so proud of myself. Organisers want me to be a regular performer too 🥳

Was gonna make a roast beef sandwich - emmental inclusive - and then remembered I can’t have dairy just as I was about to put it in (I have a show in 3 hours)

I don’t conceptually have an issue with lab grown meat, I just know mycoprotein causes allergic reactions in people that mushrooms don’t impact. The differing cell make up could be a problem for someone like me who has to RIGOROUSLY monitor their diet for health reasons.

Fun fact about me is I met the majority of my friends in the period of 2008-2013 and I don’t remember meeting most of them because trauma + alcohol + drugs

She’s bisexual. She’s not performing for you. Why are bisexual women still accused of seeking attention or performing their sexuality for the male gaze? I unpack the stereotype and why it matters. My latest thoughts on bisexuality ⬇️

On the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, ACLU Executive Director Anthony D. Romero reflects on the government’s response to this tragedy and its devastating impact on all of our civil rights and liberties 25 years later.

Weight has been one of the most impactful things about my running journey - both in terms of catalysing it and it catalysing my performance - but I have such an uncomfortable feeling around people mentioning my weight that I hate it

It's great having a retired nursery nurse as a mum and a retired nursery teacher-turned-deputy head as a mother-in-law when you're putting your kid in to school because you're hyper aware of EVERYTHING that's good and bad. For example, why on earth does nobody have open days ready yet?

We were watching Love is Blind and a woman said “he worships the ground I walk on” and my husband said that was a bad sign. I said “no, a woman should be with a man who’s obsessed with her” and then he denied he was obsessed with me because “I don’t always agree with you”. I said “irrelevant”

I have dual citizenship because my mother’s being-Irish-and-being-the-only-member-of-her-family-to-never-get-British-citizenship attitude is why I’m unquestionably sitting here with a passport. I haven’t lived there 5 years. Or ever. Now what?

Planned changes to Irish citizenship requirements will ensure that new citizens have an “understanding” of the country and its values, the Taoiseach has said. jrnl.ie/7154915

Just got suggested an account on instagram that was a little girl. A white blonde English child. Half the followers were grown adult Indian men (my point here being, definitely not people who know her personally). Nothing in common. No mutuals. Not local but definitely English.

Watching BBC News and it's striking to hear the presenters repeatedly referring to the AfD as "far-right" whilst refusing to ever say the same about the hundreds of actual masked blackshirts currently swarming British ports
