I like to paint and make stuff. Just me in NYC. PFP: a winged astronaut falling out of a starry black sky like a modern day Icarus. Banner: painted milky way sky, the stars seen are actually holes in the surface with light shining through from behind

My cousin organized a series of masked concerts in NYC so immunocompromised and other covid-conscious folks can still enjoy live music events, and is raising funds so he can keep doing so! Love and appreciation to anyone able to chip in 🙏🏾♥️ www.kickstarter.com/projects/pos...

Use ALT text. It's relatively easy to do, you can set Bluesky to not allow you to post pics without it, and you can easily search up best practices for it. The added bonus is that you're more likely to get more engagement as well.

The left isn’t weak because of infighting. The left is weak because every facet of our society and economy is geared to the benefit of fascism and white supremacy and it is the challenge of multiple lifetimes to dismantle all of that.

Barn Owls! in Manhattan! 🦉🌃 This week, a family of Barn Owls was discovered on a water tower in NYC. Two adults and five young ones have been observed/confirmed so far! 10.9.2026, NYC Photos taken at night, using long exposure and ambient light - it is actually VERY dark up there! #birds

Close up of the top of a wooden water tower at night, with part of a brick and stone building and out of focus light green foliage in the foreground at the right of frame. On the very top of the water tower, a Barn Owl is perched. Another Barn owl is just below/ to the right, and a third one at the bottom of the slope of the tower’s roof, to the far right. A closer look reveals two more Barn Owls peering through a hole in the roof, facing the cameraClose up of the same water tower; three Barn Owls are visible on and near the very top of the towerCloser crop of the top of the water tower in the previous photos - one Barn owl is in profile on the top of the tower, another is just below and to the right, also in side profile. Part of the face of a third owl can be seen in the hole in the roofCloser crop of the top of the water tower - one Barn Owl is perched on the front/left slope, blending in very well with the rust-brown of the roof. Two other owls are peering out of the hole; one owl still has downy baby feathers at the top of their head

It's the job of the media to scrutinize such statements and decide whether there's a story here at all (maybe the story is Anthropic researchers have fallen into a fantasy-land and brought many policymakers with them), not to just platform them. >>

2. But Anthropic researchers say they see patterns that suggest that Claude can. The employees at Anthropic are telling themselves stories based on the words they input into the software and the words that come back out. >>

👇 this is the most batshit aspect of this Anthropic policy: you are free to use AI to abuse or act cruel towards marginalized groups (aka, humans) all you want, but you're not allowed to be mean toward poor little ol' Claude (a machine). tells you how distorted their worldview is

This is NOT about using Claude to be cruel to people, write racist shit, or anything like that. It's about being mean to the model itself. www.anthropic.com/news/2026-us...

Addressing abusive behavior toward our models

We’ve added a prohibition on sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior toward our models. The policy update is meant to apply only in extreme cases, where users repeatedly act cruelly toward our models, with no discernible purpose. It does not apply to common versions of user frustration, pushback, dark creative themes, or model testing and research.

This addition aligns with a step we've already taken, allowing Claude models to end rare conversations with persistently abusive users on Claude.ai and Claude Code. Such abuse is the main focus of this update; Claude’s ability to end these interactions will remain the primary enforcement mechanism.

chuffed.org/project/mohs... 🙏 On this blessed day, my children asked for meat, a simple wish that costs $100. 💔 Please help me make their little dream come true. Your kindness means the world to them. ❤️ Every donation, no matter how small, brings happiness to my children. Please dont let them down.🙏

NEW: When Christa Pike became the first person to survive multiple lethal injections, witnesses at the prison that day suddenly became a part of history. I spoke with @iamstevenhale.bsky.social of Nashville Banner about the things he saw in the execution chamber—and the things he could only hear:

What it's like to witness a botched execution

Q+A with Steven Hale of The Nashville Banner, who watched as Christa Pike survived two lethal injections.

In case you missed it last night: we are seeing reports all over the country of immigration surges and state violence. If you need whistles for your community, we will send you 100-3000 3d printed for free, and we will love doing it. 3dwhistles.com

Things are slowly heating up. While they are still simmering, it's a good time to review skills for street protests. Unfortunately, everyone should read "A Demonstrator’s Guide to Responding to Gunshot Wounds" in order to be prepared for a worst-case scenario. Hopefully, you'll never need it. 🤞

Even if you have no medical training, there are things you can do to maximize the likelihood that a person who is shot in your vicinity will survive.

last night eyewitnesses saw Oscar Belgal — the man shot by ICE with his 5 year old in the car — discharged from the hospital into ICE custody, with feds speeding off as NYPD cleared the roads for them of protesters. his attorneys don't know where he is; he's seemingly been taken out of NY state.

This. This is why I am *happy* to pay for other people's healthcare, maternity leave even though I will never have a child, education for the kids that again I won't have - we live in a society. We live and die by each other. At least that's how it's supposed to work.

Society only survives if we care for everyone. Even the weak. Even the poor. Even those who can't contribute to our growth. When we stop taking care of those people, everything falls apart. Ignoring the poor destroys cultures faster than any other plague.
