No one can claim ownership of what's in a museum archive. To label that "my research" is ridiculous. OK, you read it,. with a historian's expertise. Great. TIllie read it too, with a storyteller's expertise. Just because someone found the archive first is irrelevant. It's there to BE used.
This is something that people without illustration experience tend not to see: every single thing in an image was put there with intention, nothing can be incidental. A writer says "the car," but an illustrator says exactly what model, inside and out, from every angle, and it's not optional.

Cleves is not a visual storyteller, so this is no surprise. But to say that Walden did little research of her own is simply wrong.

The thing about the comics industry under the boys club, those 60+ victims are probably more “blacklisted” than any of these guys ever will be. Then w/ this announcement, it tells all their future victims, don’t bother either. Never forget, a lot of these victims just wanted to make comics too.
