the truly crazy making part of all of this is that voter fraud EFFECTIVELY DOES NOT EXIST. you have a better chance of finding an actual leprechaun at the end of the rainbow than of finding evidence of voter fraud that influences an election

Genuinely an insane paragraph from Sam Alito. “Voter fraud is real and scary and we have to stop it, so the fact that implementing Trump’s mail ballot rule will disenfranchise millions is legally irrelevant.” Brain melted. A right-wing podcaster in a robe. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

As for the equities, the Government has a strong interest
in enforcing the rule, and implementing it will also “en-
hance the visibility of Federal Ballot Mail” in order to better
detect election fraud. 91 Fed. Reg. 54972. On the other side
of the balance, the plaintiff States invoke the practical ef-
fects of implementing the rule close to the midterm elec-
tions. I take that problem very seriously, but it is not
enough to convince me to deny the application.
First, as the District Court acknowledged, the States dis-

I'm serious when I say I've lost track of all the recent revelations of literal Nazis working in high-level positions in Republican congressional campaigns and I would very much appreciate a journalist who took the time to detail as many of them as can fit into an article.

Ossoff: "Then there's the ex-staffer posting swastikas and Klan regalia. And the neo-Nazi with a million followers who produces neo-Nazi propaganda at Collins's house ... a man who won't take responsibility for what happens under his own roof can't be trusted with our national affairs."

Remember that time Mitch McConnell died and they just pretended he didn’t so they could keep collecting checks? Should make for a quirky HBO comedy someday.

“Time and again [SCOTUS] leapt in to short-circuit the normal process to allow Trump to break the law, on the theory that saying no to the president is grave emergency.” 😥😥😥 @lizdye.bsky.social tells us that the SCOTUS dumpster fire has already burned us into a crisp. @atrupar.com | Public Notice

New in PN: Trump begs SCOTUS to let him unleash midterm chaos "Multiple courts have ruled this is wholly illegal. And yet, no one knows whether SCOTUS's MAGA majority will again leap in to ensure he's able to violate the law. This is not how functioning democracies *go*. Or at least, not for long."

Yet another issue where every single person who touched it needs to end up in jail for us to have any semblance of the rule of law. You cannot have a functional democracy where the government creates a plan to literally throw away votes from places that don't support the incumbent party.

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.

Ron and Cassie DeSantis: These two crooks stole $10 million from a settlement with a charity, wired it to Cassie’s fake “charity,” laundered it through two puppet organizations, and then used it for political ads in an election year. They should be in jail.
