I agree w/Julie but focus on a) MONEY and b) volunteering if you are able. In general, food banks can do a lot more with $1 than any individual, and they know what they need and can use. Even small donations help. And a lot of companies match donations, be sure to check!

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Whatever you think of the White House as a building or a symbol, the fact is that the image of it being torn apart on a whim two days after 7 million people hit the streets against autocracy is going to make a HUGE amount of people really, really angry, and that's an energy that should be harnessed.

The hatred of Greta Thunberg by a virulent core of middle-aged white men is a crystallisation of social media misogyny in general: It’s jealously combined with an inability to tolerate (or even understand) a woman in the public eye whose existence is defined by anything other than her sexuality.
Insurance rates up $2000. Food benefits cut off. Farmers unable to sell their crops. Skyrocketing national debt. $40 billion to Argentina. America First!
