The tories want to take disability benefits away to fund tax cuts for millionaires. Absolute ghouls.
The proposed national social care service only available to over 65s. Health element of UC might be removed for under 25s. Labour government decides young disabled people don't exist. Shame on them.
For the love of the universe and the sake of millions of people with #MECFS and #LongCOVID can some funding body please fund the rest of #SequenceME / LC already?! WGS is one of the greatest crowning achievements of science and has enormous potential for pointing the compass in the right direction.

Here's today's column on the astonishing, ongoing mistreatment of people with #ME/CFS. Please spread it far and wide: the only thing which can break the media's wall of indifference is seeing an article about the issue go viral. Thank you. 1/2 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Abandoned, dismissed and gaslighted: there is no excuse for the way ME sufferers have been betrayed | George Monbiot
Changes in guidance and science seem to have little impact on millions of devastated lives. It’s a social crisis playing out behind closed doors, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

I bought an RNLI hat as an expression of my anti-fascism yesterday, which is somehow a sentence that makes sense in 2026.
It’s been offered to me. It’s been offered to patients like me. I said no… and I am still waiting for healthcare and social supports. That’s coercion. You can’t ethically administered assisted dying when you won’t commit to assist people with surviving.
The Nazis came for the disabled first. They tested gas chambers on us. They deemed us “useless eaters”. They had propaganda convincing people we were expendable. They got many of these ideas from the US. Eugenics is not new. Disability solidarity is needed to fight fascism.
As if we hadn't noticed before, but Reform have gone very public about who they really are this week, violently attacking women protestors, dismissing evidence of corruption, hanging out with the far right & all. Sadly they are still being given a free ride in the press & media, BBC included.
Nice to wake up to see the rozzers and government doing the square root of fuck all about black shirts running about doing bad shit again.
Yet another wave of COVID and prevention still isn’t being taken seriously. Until prevention is properly prioritised, we have to take responsibility for our own risk reduction. That means continuing with the practical precautions we know work, even if those around us have stopped taking them.
So, all those Reform voters filmed attempting to tear a protestor limb from limb will be arrested for assault, yeah? It was only security personnel that prevented it from actually being a lynching of a woman for all the world to see. The mask is off. If Burnham doesn't make an example, his is too.
Getting a milkshake chucked over you= viscous attack that requires a spell in prison. Getting set upon by 5 men and assaulted with a walking stick, face grabbed and hair pulled = boring boring boring
Content warning: Multiple men violently assault a female protester at Reform's conference at the Birmingham NEC, to the visible delight of Nigel Farage.

Not just that assault either. Bloke in the white shirt sticks the boot in on another protester.
I simply do not understand what's going on in Labour that renders its leaders incapable of finding a TV camera and speaking out against street violence. Even if you assume they agree about immigration, violence is wrong, unpopular AND against the interests of any even vaguely left wing govt.
As he looked at me he said: “I don’t understand how you can keep that mask on in this heat,” and though I wanted to say: “I don’t understand how you can keep going maskless in this Covid surge,” instead I just said: “The mask has elastic straps.”
Every billionaire should have the choice between 6 months in a minimum wage customer service job or a 75% tax on their assets.
It's so fucked up that psychology classified queerness as various kinds of mental illnesses with no supporting empirical evidence for decades, but has never considered hoarding extreme amounts of wealth as at least a *potential* symptom of mental illness. Especially given [gestures broadly].

One of the first "outrageous" claims I saw as Jason Arday's media hounding unfolded was that he ran 30 marathons in 35 days! Wow! What a thing to claim! And the newspapers all suggested there was no evidence he actually did it. Well, they clearly didn't look very hard 🙄 🧵 1/26
PIP needs to be reformed. It needs to be at least £300-400 a month MORE generous to reflect the £1095 of average costs a disabled person faces each month. We need to humanise the application process. End treating people like frauds until proven innocent. End assessors LYING in their reports.
The UK media put their colleague, Boris Johnson, in No. 10 and defended him to the hilt during his disastrous response to covid until the precise moment they turned on him. They defend fascists rioting in the streets. They are dangerous both in who they harass and abuse and who they choose to defend
Some people have a hard time understanding that you don't need to be morally perfect to deserve basic dignity and respect. We are going backwards.
