Migrant and proud. LGBTQIA+. Belfast. Ireland. Comms, community development, human rights activism. Feminist of course.
Deadly UK border policies have taken four lives this weekend - including a child. These are entirely avoidable deaths. Safe routes must exist so people seeking safety no longer have to risk their lives.

Do you think this will stop here and roll back, now that these people have been shown they can demand and get this level of permission to run riot from government, police and press? Or do you think they will take this as the bare minimum, and push for more and worse.
Everyone out this afternoon in Belfast to take a stand against racism & stand with asylum seekers! ✊🏻
I regret to inform you that Starmer’s been tweeting dehumanising videos of migrants again. These videos have been shown to increase support for Reform, by increasing salience of migration. He has to go.
A year after the far-right riots which swept the country, we continue to see violence against migrants and marginalised communities. Together we can stand against it. Share your pics and visas and stand #UnitedAgainstDivision👇 www.migrantvoice.org/home/pagenew...
Belfast Pride 25. Proud and happy to walk with those amazing guys
This is the scarcely believable testimony of Gaza journalist, Motasem A Dalloul. The tiny amounts of aid getting in to Gaza is used as bait in a Squid Game-style nightmare. Except this is real. Families forced to choose between dying of starvation or dying trying to get food. The end of days.
Just an agonising few kilometres away from the starving, thousands of tons of food aid lies wasting in the sun as the Israeli blockade continues. Gaza is now being systematically starved. The war crime of the 21st century. REST OF THE WORLD UPDATE: Still watching. (🎥 BBC)

The United Against Racism Belfast and Mid-Ulster statement is spot on

Bumped into @queensips.bsky.social at Belfast's Refugee Week Picnic today, encouraging migrants to exercise our right to vote and make politicians aware that our voices count too. Particularly important in the current climate. #MigrantDemocracyProject

Moving piece about PIP cuts, and more generally the awfulness of PIP assessments, by Elsa Williams, an autistic writer who co-writes the (very funny) site The Daily Tism.
Deep breath, lads. In response to the proposed government disability cuts, I wrote a piece about my life before The Daily Tism (it includes a PIP assessment, a mental health crisis and iced Madeira cake). We’ll fight this with everything we’ve got. #TakingThePip

We'll over 1,000 at march for Trans Rights, Belfast, yesterday ❤️🌞
Want to see how big the Trans Rights march in Belfast yesterday was? Here you go... Video via @imamammie.bsky.social
I was thinking if we changed the word 'trans' to 'gay' in UK tabloids it would bring me back to my youth so I did a quick Google search. Here's the first pictures that came up. Mostly from the 80s and 90s, although some from this century as well. Looks like the time of dinosaurs...
Folks in the Assembly: THE EQUALITY ACT 2010 DOES NOT APPLY IN NI 🙄
Exactly this. The Supreme Court ruling was on their interpretation of law as it stands, it’s up to Labour to enhance protections, fix grey areas and anomalies in law. They are in power.
This is so tone deaf Clive. Given your position, "standing up for trans" isn't just a couple of posts on social media and job done. It's new legislation reenshrining those lost rights. It's bringing in self-ID. It's funding NHS treatment and facing down Wes' eliminatory politics.
