#alphabetchallenge #weekEforEphemeral Every evening, on our stay in west Wales, we were treated to the most amazing sunset. Can’t wait to go back.

The ocean doesn’t fear the storm—it embraces it. Moments like this remind me why I love landscape photography. Every cloud, every wave, every beam of light tells its own story.

Starving millions of Americans to death isn't an unfortunate side effect of GOP economics; it's the intended outcome. They're trying to "accelerate" societal collapse & violence so they can establish a white ethnostate. News outlets like @npr.org fail us when they overlook this fact.
A field guide to ‘accelerationism’: White supremacist groups using violence to spur race war and create social chaos
A scholar of right-wing extremism provides an overview of some of the key white supremacist groups that pose significant threats to public safety.

As has happened before, we are about to be hit with a barrage of divisive information and misinformation whose sole purpose is to demoralize and divide us and keep us from voting for more sanity and less harm than we have now (even if not up to all of our ideals and wishes). #StayStrong everyone!

With all the chatter over "The Odyssey," including about race, I've not seen a discussion of Nobel Prize winner Derek Walcott's epic "Omeros" or his BBC play"The Odyssey" which counterpoints Odysseus journey with Caribbean history. It would make a brilliant course! www.amazon.com/dp/037452350...

Gold-plating horse statues in DC while eliminating a program to help lower Medicare drug costs for senior citizens. If that doens't symbolize the end of empire, I don't know what does. Rome is burning. Get out the fiddles . . .

Meta is spending $600 billion+ to build out its AI model. That model is being aggressively integrated into platforms used by 3.9 billion people. This week, Meta announced its AI will be trained on content from Newsmax, the far-right website with a history of promoting pro-Trump conspiracy theories.
This is unspeakably grotesque. This is destroying centuries of human culture and achievement so people can generate an email response to an email their boss generated while watching world burn.
No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.

Fun fact not everyone knows: the internet archive swoops in to buy libraries' (and similar outfits') stock when they go under. They've got warehouses filled with old libraries they're trying to save. I suspect they represent the largest such effort.
