Currently working on a project where a key element of the site history is the seizure of the plot as part of the massive land grab that was the Enclosure Acts. I will never cease to be amazed about how normalised this massive theft of the communal resources by the rich is!

While I appreciate journalists' giving space to criticize incidents of racism, I wish they didn't just ask questions to the ppl who were the targets of racism. Ask Messi about the racist behavior of Argentine fans. Does he approve of fans' monkey gestures or the vice-president's comments? Ask him!

PhD thesis submitted at the end of last month and now feeling weirdly flat and restless. Sharing a little zine I made at the end of the project as a nod to hopefully doing more creative things in archaeology soon! Last few pages to follow
Distracting myself ahead of looming PhD deadline -so making requests from the Pokémon obsessed kids 🤣. Currently working out how to turn an old Frozen bag they have grown out of, an old cushion cover and a pair of old jeans into a Psyduck shoulder bag! Looking so cute so far
5 Muslim's were injured yesterday in a racist attack by a man wielding an axe It has barely been mentioned A couple of months ago 4 empty ambulances were burned, no one was injured but they talked about it for weeks and had a COBR meeting. The racism in the UK is systematic
Looking back over my notes, there are days when I seriously wonder how I get anything written up from these 😂.

We’ve been doggedly reporting on Palantir’s contracts with UK state…& this latest one with Met police is both creepy & opaque. Met has used Palantir to spy on its own officers. If it can do this to its own employees…what about the rest of us? By @mc00.bsky.social & @luciaoc.bsky.social
NEW Fears over the spread of Palantir’s influence after ‘Big Brother’ Met police project extended The staff surveillance pilot was due to expire in April, but the Nerve has established that it was in fact extended to today, May 15. There is no indication what happens next… Link ⤵️

I’m not sure why we still have a monarch. It seems like a medieval anachronism to me; a demonstration of inherited status and the the pinnacle of an entrenched aristocracy. And I’m really not sure why our monarch has gone to the US to stand next to another man with too much power, land and money.
The UK govt underestimated the carbon emissions of AI data centres. Not by a bit. By a factor of 100. Giving tax breaks for billionaires to generate with an insane, economy-destroying bubble for their word-guessing plagiarism engine will burn the planet.
How is that possible??? www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Victoria Derbyshire allowing Zia Yusuf to tie himself in absolute knots by asking him simple questions about Reform policy. A masterclass in quality journalism.
"So will it be the same act but with a different label?" Victoria Derbyshire humiliates Zia Yusuf on Reform UK's plan to scrap the Equalities Act, because, as she reads each of the things from the Equalities act he confirms they'll still be protected 🤷♂️
