El-Sayed: "I believe our kids have a right to our tax dollars. I'm about 10 min away from schools that look like they did 50 years ago. Our money should be spent here rather than sent in the form of bombs or tanks to foreign govts, particularly when they are doing most heinous things with them ... "

Phang: "Capital One said, 'We don't want the business anymore of the 45th president of the United States, his businesses, his failed sons, and his revocable trust.' So you can imagine -- I am just hypothesizing... but it suggests whatever Capital One uncovered was pretty bad. Makes you wonder..."

If America were founded as a Christian nation, the Constitution would say so. Instead, it omits God, prohibits religious tests and bars religious establishment. That silence wasn’t an oversight. It was a choice. firstthings.com/america-has-...

America Has Always Been a Christian Nation - First Things

America is a Christian nation. It was at its birth, and despite increasing attacks on this reality, our Founding is unintelligible apart from the faith that animated it.  Today,...

Luigi Mangione is demanding that his murder trial be broadcast live. He also asked the court to provide a live overflow feed inside the courthouse so journalists and members of the public who can’t get a seat can still follow the proceedings.

James Talarico on Texas officially banning THC: “Texans aren’t going to stop smoking weed and eating edibles because politicians in Austin say so. We are now telling full-grown adults how to live their lives. This is the nanny state at its worst; this is big government at its worst."

Phang: "The fact that it's taking France and England and other foreign countries to be able to launch investigations, and yet our American DOJ is sitting on it doing absolutely nothing, including not cooperating with those foreign nations, is such a big red flag."

Katie Phang vows to release the Epstein files if her lawsuit is successful: "The law was to benefit everyone -- especially the victims and survivors of Epstein, Maxwell and others, who continue to get the stiff arm, short thrift asshole treatment by Todd Blanche."

Remember when tRump mocked people for taking the 5th, saying only the guilty do it? Then he took it 440 times himself. Now the same GOP is melting down because Fauci did it a hundred times. The outrage only kicks in when it’s not their guy. Pure hypocrisy. www.themirror.com/news/gop-sla...

At our municipal grocery stores, New Yorkers will get a 30% discount on eggs, milk, chicken, produce and other everyday essentials. In the wealthiest city in the richest country in the world, no one should have to wonder how they’ll afford the food they need to feed themselves or their families.

Mayor Mamdani holds up bananas with a 30% off sticker on them. Shelves of produce and canned goods, all with 30% off stickers on them. New Yorkers clap at the press conference announcing the 30% discount for municipal grocery stores.

Huge corporations like Amazon, Walmart, and Uber are among the top employers of SNAP and Medicaid recipients. Meanwhile, their CEOs are raking in multi-million dollar pay packages. How is this not a bigger scandal?

President Trump just gave a speech about voter fraud. Someone has been committing voter fraud — and his name is Ken Paxton. He was just caught voting from the wrong address 6 elections in a row. If the President wants to investigate voter fraud, he should start with Ken Paxton.

AOC: Ask Peter Thiel. Ask Elon Musk. Ask Mark Zuckerberg if they want one of these data centers in their own backyard. Ask any one of us here on this committee. If anyone wants to live right next to one of these centers, please raise your hand.

Phang: "The incestuous relationships that exist in the MAGA moron-sphere is remarkable. I can say Tate brothers, and I don't need six degrees of separation to even get to Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Nick Fuentes, Don Jr., or Barron Trump. I mean, I could spit and hit all of them and then some."

Katie Phang blasts the Trump administration for its role in getting the Tate brothers travel restriction lifted: "This regime has the most fucked up priorities. It's not taking care of Americans...It's let's make sure that we prioritize getting the Tate brothers getting off a fucking house arrest."

Slotkin: "The president is using an authoritarian playbook I have seen tons of times abroad, where he's sowing misinformation & disinformation about our elections...it culminates in a in him creating a security incident that requires uniformed military or federal law enforcement to go to the polls."

Good lord, #2 is embarrassing. Here’s an actual list of priorities for the left in 2029: 1. Expand the Supreme Court 2. Medicare-for-All 3. Ban MAGA insurrectionists from holding office via the 14th 4. End Citizens United & gerrymandering 5. Affordable housing/anti-monopoly 6. Tax the rich

Klein asks Allen what liberals should prioritize if they win the trifecta in 2028. Allen suggests the following: 1) Putting an end to Citizens United; 2) Creation of national service; 3) Ending gerrymandering

Congress has always had the power to shape the federal court system, and as part of that, the number of SCOTUS justices has expanded and even shrunk before. The idea that the current setup is not only permanent but also somehow vital to our existence is just incredibly stupid.

I just listened to a panel with David French and someone from the Brennan Center vociferously argue against expanding the Court. French said it would lead to “the dissolution of the republic.” About a third of the audience applauded. We need to get a policy culture that’s willing to do what it takes
