By now you all are aware of the heavy smoke in the Pacific Northwest US. I snapped a picture of the smoke around Mt Adams as we passed by. Mt Adams is 12,276 feet high. Looks like ~3/4 is covered in smoke. Be safe.

Can anyone ID this oriole? Searched "forever" (Cornell, Audubon, etc.). My guess is that it's an immature Bollock's (black streak behind the eye). Note the Audubon's remark: ..."but some are not safely identified." Thanks!

I think this is an immature Bullock's oriole, The light black behind the eye is characteristic of a Bullock's. I must've looked at every oriole posted online and consulted the Audubon, Cornell, etc. This was its only encounter so far. And the orange color is not grape jelly!
