One of my Crank Theories of Everything, at least of Everything in the Recent Past, is that we are dealing (badly) with COVID trauma we’d mostly prefer to pretend never happened.

If you want to understand just how corrupt FIFA is under Infantino, you have to grasp that his predecessor, Sepp Blatter, was forced to step down + charged w/ criminal fraud + conspiracy and yet, somehow seems quaint in comparison to what Infantino has done/is doing.

Almost 4 years ago, my then 11yo daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. My daughter + my partner have thrown all of their energy into advocacy + activism. Today, they met w/ a congressman + secured his promise to co-sponsor legislation promoting screening for T1D. I’m so damn proud.

The FDA has announced that 1.6 million eggs have been contaminated with salmonella, forcing a nationwide recall. Last year, the Trump administration scrapped regulations to limit salmonella and laid off hundreds of food safety inspection workers.

Over on Threads, some guy insists that "No country that calls football 'soccer' has ever won a medal at the men’s FIFA World Cup." This is, of course, an intended shot at Americans, who notoriously call Association Football "soccer." It's also incorrect, if complicated. Some #soccerhistory:
