Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

after Twitch Plays Pokémon twitch tried hard to push twitch integration for games (to my knowledge there weren't many games that did it - IDARB comes to mind as great, after searching I'm reading Dead Cells did but I didn't play that?), anyhoo these people played intellivision over the phone in 1979

An insane video game-related Lost Media find has quietly popped up on YouTube. Two episodes of "Say Powww!", a 1979 game show about video games that only aired in some markets. People in studio and over the phone played Intellivision (!!) games. Predates Starcade!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=29tJ...

Sad for the Russian folks who might have felt seen by our game. Someone in their government may have just done a sweep of the LGBTQ+ tag on Steam and issued bans. Here's hoping more of you don't wake up to a ban 🤍

Crosshair Pack has been updated! 🎯 It now includes separate SVG (vector) files for each of the 200 crosshairs in a light and dark color scheme. Also adds a new glow effect, and the missing outline tilesheet! kenney.nl/assets/cross...

Am I crazy for thinking Brand New Day is the best Spider-Man movie ... by like a wide margin? Homecoming: rock solid. No Way Home: audacious fan service. Raimi: the auteur. Spider-Verse: incomparable. And this one? Hits apex levels of dynamism, expression, and humanity, confined to the right scale.

Assets that I made for the 2024 Roguelike Celebration Steam sale page. 🧑‍🎨 The tallish tile size here I'm very fond of. I choose it because it reminds me of the tall grid often in ASCII roguelikes, but it also had some benefits when it came to actually draw the tiles & sprites.

Rebecca Heineman's source code disks for Apple II, Apple IIGS, and C64 versions of "Tass Times in Tonetown" were recently imaged at KansasFest 2026 and are now archived. Burger Becky was an incredible and beloved engineer and raconteur who we sadly lost last year. archive.org/details/tass...

Title screen of the Apple IIGS version of "Tass Times in Tonetown". A white dog dives out of the smashed computer monitor. He wears red-rimmed glasses and a brown felt hat with press credentials tucked into the blue hat band. The title appears at the top, and text below reads: "Designed by Interplay Productions and Brainwave Creations, copyright 1986 Activision, Inc.
