If I had a nickel every time I see someone on LinkedIn go "maybe this is what the next generation of AI tools needs to address" to solve simple problems like "we suck at putting all documentation in the same place so they are easy to access for everyone", I probably wouldn't be working anymore.

375,000 people evacuated, major cities under threat, and tourists turned away. France has never had a fire fierce enough to generate a pyrocumulonimbus before. The largest devastation of land since WWII. But net zero is very expensive www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...

I’m hard pressed to come up with any single thing that has been studied as much as vaccines & autism (vaxx safety in general), or as debunked as a link between vaccines & autism. But even more striking is how these people clearly think autism is worse than your child getting a disease or even dying

CDC has updated its vaccine safety pages. Now says: "The claim 'vaccines do not cause autism' is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism." Whoa #EpiSky #pediatrics #NeuroSky #PsychSky

No science fiction could have prepared us for just how stupid the end of the world can be. "The environment was on the brink of collapse, and so, rather than deal with that, we burned what fuel we had left getting computers to scam each other for money."

Are you a developer who has put a fishing minigame inside your non-fishing video game? Or are you considered a connoisseur of fishing minigames? OR do you have knowledge of how real-life fishing works and how it might translate to games? I would love to speak to you for a story please!

Travelled from London to London for Tennocon and the jetlag cannot take away from me how cool everything is (and as if I didn't have enough with pokemon and one piece they gave trading cards, those are getting sleeved and going on my desk at work and in my gaming shelf).

I'm seeing direct confirmation that members of the Xbox accessibility team were also impacted today. If you would like to speak about your experience, please send me a message or email. I'll be happy to give you my signal, as well

The fun part of having published papers is checking your citations to see what topics your work is cited in. My personal favourites so far: - Minecraft multiplayer - Music and death in Hades - Difficulty in Elden Ring - Game-based wheelchair skill training - Hazard mitigation during storms

If you're a researcher who doesn't want to talk to other researchers to learn more on and improve your craft, what on earth did you even become a researcher for? My biggest gripe with work right now is that I'm too slammed with projects to reach out to colleagues to see the cool things they're up to

one of the use cases promoted on this website is a researcher who says that he used to have to talk to people in order to find out how problems are approached in other disciplines and genAI means now he doesn’t have to. 1- wouldn’t bet on the quality of answer he is turning up 2-how desperately SAD

Outside of the obvs ethical and environmental concerns, a fear of deskilling and/or building an unecessary dependency into your workflow is a very reasonable reason to opt out of generative ai use.

UK folks, let's jump on this AI regulation petition the Society of Authors emailed out! It's an actual parliament one so the government HAS to respond if it reaches the signature threshold. It calls for regulations to make AI developers disclose copyrighted works trained on. Sign & repost!! ❤️

Petition: Protect creators' rights: require AI firms to disclose training data

We ask the Government to introduce a statutory duty requiring AI developers to disclose the copyrighted works used to train generative AI in enough detail for creators to identify use of their work, e...

My roommate and I finished Split Fiction tonight, and the only way I can describe my feelings during the final act (if you know you know) is: the same as watching a magic trick escalate into something more and more mind-bending and senses-defying, and going "how did they do it???".
