My mom hates the smell of cheese, so me and my camembert have been banished to the garden :(

If I had a nickel every time I see someone on LinkedIn go "maybe this is what the next generation of AI tools needs to address" to solve simple problems like "we suck at putting all documentation in the same place so they are easy to access for everyone", I probably wouldn't be working anymore.
EA’s CEO got an $8 million raise thanks to how well Battlefield 6 performed — four months after the devs responsible for making the game got laid off. https://bit.ly/4yOMvb5
375,000 people evacuated, major cities under threat, and tourists turned away. France has never had a fire fierce enough to generate a pyrocumulonimbus before. The largest devastation of land since WWII. But net zero is very expensive www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...

I’m hard pressed to come up with any single thing that has been studied as much as vaccines & autism (vaxx safety in general), or as debunked as a link between vaccines & autism. But even more striking is how these people clearly think autism is worse than your child getting a disease or even dying
CDC has updated its vaccine safety pages. Now says: "The claim 'vaccines do not cause autism' is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism." Whoa #EpiSky #pediatrics #NeuroSky #PsychSky
Looking for an animator to help us out for 2 weeks of guaranteed work. Possible to extend to 1 month. Must be proficient in Maya. Unity experience is a plus. Reach out if anyone is interested. Must be local to the LA area. Position is hybrid.
I mean if you ignore the dying plant, I kinda like my upgraded games and tcg corner (not pictured: a tea tray on the side with all my art stuff).
No science fiction could have prepared us for just how stupid the end of the world can be. "The environment was on the brink of collapse, and so, rather than deal with that, we burned what fuel we had left getting computers to scam each other for money."
Are you a developer who has put a fishing minigame inside your non-fishing video game? Or are you considered a connoisseur of fishing minigames? OR do you have knowledge of how real-life fishing works and how it might translate to games? I would love to speak to you for a story please!
Always remember that loudly calling something shit and evil and bad still has power, however diminished in this era of shamelessness.
Did not even last a week. The fact that this made it out the door means the privacy department now works in a basement with no computers and a single stapler. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/10/t...
First Tennocon, first Tennoconcert, and Lullaby of the Manifold and This Is What You Are hit me just as hard as I expected.
If you missed the show (or can't wait to re-listed), you can check out tonight's #TennoConcert on our official YouTube channel: youtube.com/live/xRRikfb...
Travelled from London to London for Tennocon and the jetlag cannot take away from me how cool everything is (and as if I didn't have enough with pokemon and one piece they gave trading cards, those are getting sleeved and going on my desk at work and in my gaming shelf).
Weather forecast was wrong, London (Ontario) weather is more London weather than current London (UK) weather.
Going to London, Ontario, in a few days for work, and very disappointed to see that the weather will in fact be the same as in London, UK. Dangit.
Gutted I can't make it to Develop this year but this looks awesome and you should go.
GAConf By The Sea is a week today!! Hang out with a bunch of cool accessibilibuddies, with drinks, snacks, trinket swap, swag, quiz with prizes.. have you got your tickets yet? #DevelopConf #DevelopBrighton
"One Billion Players a Day" isn't a business declaration, it's a bullet loaded into a gun aimed at everyone you *didn't* lay off today. It is setting an unattainable standard to justify further missed expectations.
asha sharma going "we want 1 billion players a day" a nice reminder that these execs are fundamentally incapable of understanding that their customers do not have infinite money or even just that time is finite. they just think you haven't been fed the right marketing yet to get you on board
I'm seeing direct confirmation that members of the Xbox accessibility team were also impacted today. If you would like to speak about your experience, please send me a message or email. I'll be happy to give you my signal, as well
One week before Tennocon and I'm finally caught up with the story, and after finishing the Old Peace, I'm joining the general consensus: one can never hate Ballas enough.

The fun part of having published papers is checking your citations to see what topics your work is cited in. My personal favourites so far: - Minecraft multiplayer - Music and death in Hades - Difficulty in Elden Ring - Game-based wheelchair skill training - Hazard mitigation during storms
If you're a researcher who doesn't want to talk to other researchers to learn more on and improve your craft, what on earth did you even become a researcher for? My biggest gripe with work right now is that I'm too slammed with projects to reach out to colleagues to see the cool things they're up to
one of the use cases promoted on this website is a researcher who says that he used to have to talk to people in order to find out how problems are approached in other disciplines and genAI means now he doesn’t have to. 1- wouldn’t bet on the quality of answer he is turning up 2-how desperately SAD
A comforting read if you also feel like you are arguing in a void of vacuum against both the AI bros and the "well it's okay if we are smart with how we use it because we are more reasonable than the AI bros" crowd.
This op-ed is an important read.
Outside of the obvs ethical and environmental concerns, a fear of deskilling and/or building an unecessary dependency into your workflow is a very reasonable reason to opt out of generative ai use.
You know you've lived in the UK for too long when you don't have enough t-shirts for a 10-day work trip in a sunny place.
UK folks, let's jump on this AI regulation petition the Society of Authors emailed out! It's an actual parliament one so the government HAS to respond if it reaches the signature threshold. It calls for regulations to make AI developers disclose copyrighted works trained on. Sign & repost!! ❤️
Petition: Protect creators' rights: require AI firms to disclose training data
We ask the Government to introduce a statutory duty requiring AI developers to disclose the copyrighted works used to train generative AI in enough detail for creators to identify use of their work, e...

My roommate and I finished Split Fiction tonight, and the only way I can describe my feelings during the final act (if you know you know) is: the same as watching a magic trick escalate into something more and more mind-bending and senses-defying, and going "how did they do it???".

Sad that they botched the trailer of Black Flag's remake (RIP anyone whose trailer suffered from the audio/video desync and lag), still incredibly hyped for it. One of the games that pulled me fully into ARPGs and still an all-time favourite to this day.
