Unusual drone sighting situation at Leipzig airport in Germany: a drone, possibly armed with some kind of explosive, has been found on the ground at Leipzig airport. Later, an aircraft reported a collision with an unknown object. More info certainly to follow. www.bild.de/regional/lei...

Much fuss about basically nothing ? The Ceuta situation once again showed that if European leaders could have waited a day or so before reacting, the whole thing could’ve basically been solved amicably. The real-time outrage loops and need to react to everything IMMEDIATELY is a huge issue

"How would Mette Frederiksen react if Spain were to show solidarity not with Denmark but with Donald Trump during the next diplomatic attack on Greenland? And has anyone in Finland considered that Spanish soldiers are also involved in securing the northern flank?" www.zeit.de/politik/2026...

Ceuta: Ein Fest für die Feinde Europas

Die Reaktionen auf den Ausnahmezustand in Ceuta? Teils faktenfreies Spanien-Bashing. Man muss festhalten: Friedrich Merz fiel hier beinahe positiv auf.

The year is 2028. The strait of Hormuz is still closed. Fuel at the pump is now 10 dollars. The sixth pipeline across the Arabian peninsula has been opened. It got hit by a Shahed-378 the next day. The largest industry in the US is betting when Axios posts that the MoU #37 is close to being signed.

""Tenure ... contributes to curriculum that drifts from the mission of educating our warfighters to the research priorities of the tenured academics." Nope, not really. What we teach and what we research are generally driven by different dynamics, but far right's hostility to academics is known 1/

Once the agentic AI users fully change the quantity of academic submissions, we need something like Tokens. A consortium of journals agreeing that authors (identified by their Orcid account) are only allowed to submit X number of articles per year (number to be determined by respective field).

Transaction costs. That’s it. That’s what I propose. Actual, real, measurable, impactful costs.

Exactly. You cannot "summarise" sources. You have to fucking read them. You're skipping steps. The reading is the point and you have to do it yourself. My PhD (in history) was based on war crimes trial records, thousands and thousands of them, collected over many years. You cannot do it differently.

Surely the solution here is just *don't use AI tools* for your writing and research and continue to do your writing and research in ALL the ways you were doing it before you started using AI instead of doing the work??
