Love the "I don't want my taxes being spent on EDI woke nonsense" rage. Sweetie the NHS pays me which means you get to fund ALL my nonsense, EDI, Woke or otherwise. 😘😘

(They/Them) Amateur Politico, Former Chair of LGBT+ Lib Dems, Ambulance control minion, writer, musicals nerd, carer, disabled person, very bi. Once told Heathrow Airport ops centre to "go away"!
I've been taking part in Amnesty Campaigns for nearly 30 years. I even helped run an Amnesty International Club at my school. It's the reason I studied Human Rights Law at Uni. This is so extremely disappointing. "We'll stand up for everyone's human rights unless they threaten to sue us."
Amnesty has caved to Rowling's millions. Disgusting! www.amnesty.org.uk/latest/an-ap...
I think we need to actually restate how wild it is how much anti trans activism there is, and the extreme degree. We're getting two high court decisions on trans rights today alone that have huge consequences for trans people's lives (strip searching and puberty blockers). In one DAY
I really hope the "don't have kids you can't afford" crowd are taking that same energy into their financial planning to pay for their care needs...
When your Mum says you're rude and you get to point out that she was responsible for raising you so it's technically her fault.
Stop assuming politicians don't know PIP isn't an out of work of work benefit. They know. It just suits their desire to slash support for disabled people to keep comparing it to the minimum wage.
I mean this very genuinely- it's easy to forget how much you actually get done in a day sometimes trying to make up a bit of doggerel forces me to remember what I've achieved and makes even the mundane every day stuff feel a bit more epic 😀 (I'm also a fan on the 'to done' list)
Had a particularly productive day in the kitchen with the complicated parts of four dinners done in advance*. As is customary**, I started singing a little riff on 'we are the champions'*** The moral here is "make sure songs are sung of your deeds even if you're the one who has to sing them!" 1/2

Even if I’m doing a ‘dear god, that’s so stupid’ laugh, it’s still a laugh
Went to Whipsnade Zoo today and nearly saw the Child Redistribution system! Small child ran up to an adult and grabbed their hand. The adult was pushing a pram and started walking off with them. Then started speaking to them - about three words in looked down and just went "You're not mine!" 😂😂
just watched some besuited Evangelicals move a homeless guy from his spot outside Asda, so they can set up their leaflet stand. Feels like something Jesus would have opinions about.
Chariots of Fire is "on top of spaghetti" but really dramatic.
Also, fun fact: the Blind Date and Jaws theme are basically the same song but in different keys. Enjoy.
Tax on cis people sharing screenshots of rowling's latest cruelty - one screenshot, one donation to a trans youth group? I know we need to know what she's doing for activist work reasons - but I wish the work we were doing FOR trans youth got as much online traffic as attacks on them.
Saying you're the "most physically attacked" MP when two MPs have been killed in the last decade is just horribly self-absorbed.
Farage quitting to spend more time with his g̶r̶i̶f̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ family?
Out of interest @overlysarcastic.bsky.social how is Blue enjoying some real life Pope fights?
Seeing "X age Group doesn't want to work anymore!" Doing the rounds. Let's be clear. The number of people who *want* to work is miniscule regardless of age. If I said "you can have £20m on the condition you never undertake paid work again." I'd not have time to finish the sentence 99% of the time.
The venn diagram of people who say "all Muslims are terrorists" and "Not all men" is damn nearly a circle. #Hypocrisy
I have social media under aliases because I've worked with children and young people and it was required under my then employer's policy. Some of those accounts are still in use and some have fallen by the wayside. Using an alias isn't the issue. Being a twerp on the internet is.
I have only ever used my real name on the Internet ever. "Real name" policies do nothing to protect anyone and do a ton to hurt people. This is also true of almost every "regulating social media" policy that any UK Government would ever actually consider.
Out with mates at uni, one of the guys tries to pull and strikes out. He's commiserating with me later. Friend: "But Nathan said she was looking at me like I was KFC." Me: "Clearly she's vegetarian mate."
I want to hear about the funniest quip or retort you’re responsible for. Preferably this is a remark you made in-person, but share whatever you’d like.
Starmer’s proposed social media ban will harm trans kids even more. For many trans young people, online spaces aren’t optional - they’re where they first find people like themselves. ⬇️ Continued
Your reminder that fairy tales are full of stepmothers because women once routinely died in childbirth, from postpartum sepsis, or from other infectious diseases and left behind housefuls of motherless children. Stable nuclear families are made possible by vaccines, antibiotics, and safe abortions.
One reason i think everyone should take an archaeology class is to internalise with tangible examples that there is no pure, natural past utopia and that antibiotics and vaccines are what stand between us and a 50% child mortality rate and scores of women dying needlessly during pregn and birth
Time for me to repeat one of my ‘sayings’. If you try to solve a problem by passing a law, but people don’t obey the law, you now have two problems where you used to have one.
Really wish my mother's Housing Association would stop sending me texts about visits to her property addressing me as my dead father... Especially given he hasn't lived there in 25 years and has been dead 18 months (and they are WELL aware of that)
@wimbledonltc.bsky.social has announced the 2026 prize money. Ladies and gents singles winners walking away with 3.6 million. Meanwhile they can't be bothered to break into 6 figures for wheelchair singles and the wheelchair doubles will get a whole 18k each...
Kudos to the grown up on the bus who didn't respond with a pat 'because they can't walk.' when the ~3yo kid they were with asked why someone would be using a wheelchair but instead gave them examples like 'because they might get very tired' and 'because walking might hurt them a lot.' Great job 👏
Last chance to get drafting advice for motions for #LDConf this week, the deadline is 10 June at 13.00 for Autumn Conference - www.libdems.org.uk/conference/s...
