Because the Hadestown Proshot did so well at the box office, they extended the run and Laura and I got to see it today. Do yourself a favor and go see it in the theater. One of the most emotional experiences I’ve ever had at the movies. 😭😭😭

Laura and I had tickets to see it this evening but we decided to stay home and be with our kids & Laura’s parents before heading to the beach tomorrow. It was the right decision but I really would liked to have seen this one. 😢

This is what "both sides" journalism has wrought. A complete inability for journalists to simply state clear and obvious facts that are supported by reams of research. This is not a debate. There are not two sides. Bike infrastructure and traffic calming make streets safer.

This seems like a good set of predictions but the Senate races have so much upside potential for Dems and yet we should never underestimate the ability of Democratic Senate candidates to screw up fantastically in the final stretch of the campaign. 😫

Cyd Harrell@cydharrell.bsky.social · 3w agoan idea's been rolling around in my head about how what we lose with assuming everyone wants "answers" & not search results is similar to what we lose when "route" is the only kind of map we encounter I won't get the academic terms right, but it's some version of skipping an essential abstraction
They're seeing that investing in supply safety monitoring introduces liability without protecting revenue. This is where it would be incumbent on the government to rebalance those incentives by imposing regulatory penalties, but the government we have now is the Trump admin.
The entire industry is seeing right now that it's better for business to keep your mouth shut and ship the contaminated product.
That Taco Bell, after investing in food safety diligence and exposing Taylor Farms as the source of the outbreak, is suffering all the reputational damage Taylor Farms deserves at the hands of the media and government bodes very ill for the future of restaurant food safety.
