Good friends up near Chicago lost their 30 year old daughter on Thursday in a car crash resulting from her running a stop sign. Maybe she was distracted, but FFS it was a rural area and little traffic at 10am, what are the odds? We're gutted for them. She was a newly graduated paramedic.

I had an earwax thing this week, almost bad for urgent care. But I resolved it finally. Meanwhile, I researched earwax. Turns out, it naturally works itself out through jaw movement as you eat or talk, which confused my husband, who asked. "Why the problem? If you're not talking, you're eating!"

I never reported a YouTube ad until today, but they'd better take that thing down. "Meet single Asian women today!" With a photo of a young Asian woman by a washer and dryer, removing laundry from the dryer. My God, I mean...didn't that awful stereotype ad die off in the 70s??

My Fitbit Charge 6 is suddenly not syncing. I've spent the last day going through every possible fix. It is unpaired and just won't pair, the Google health app doesn't even recognize the watch. So I guess now I'll just use it as a clock and a timer. I've had enough of this.

ITCH. Sometimes I swear itching is worse than pain. I was outside for less than an hour yesterday. Forgot to apply bug spray. I woke up with about 20 bites all over me today. Quarter-sized welts. I could scream. Ivarest only helps a little.

I didn't see reposts for years until they were forced on me yesterday and wow I had no idea people reposted so many feed-hogging stupid memes. I'll just be over here hiding reposts for about a thousand people now.

If you've turned off all reposts in your feed, you'll now have to manually turn them off for individual follows. This is not the improvement I hoped for. My feed is suddenly flooded with reposts I'm not interested in.

Husband walks in, sees this and says, "Y'know, you should freeze that." Me, thinking, "Nah, I was just thinking of making 500 Margherita pizzas and the world's biggest caprese salad for dinner tonight."

A countertop loaded with freshly picked basil in various stages of stripping and cleaning. There is a whole lot of basil there.

I've been suspended from Nextdoor for the sixth time this year, this time for 30 days. I used the word "suckers" to describe anyone (generically) who'd fall for a scammy post the moderators had removed. A post they thanked me for reporting before they removed it.
