You know why nobody can seem to find evidence of Bigfoot anymore? It's because they've been raptured. That's right, it turns out that Bigfoot was the only true Christian.

Sen. John Fetterman is so unpopular that he would lose his hypothetical re-election by nearly 20 points to a generic “someone else” choice if the election were held today, new polling finds.

You don’t have to agree with a woman’s opinion but you do have root your disagreement in something that isn’t misogyny
People also forget about the Evenssey, the ancient Greek epic about a guy who sails straight home from the Trojan War, is easily recognized by his family, and throws a party for all his neighbors who would never try to hit on his wife.
The existence of the Odyssey doth presuppose the existence of an Odyay and an Odybee

"They want to tell you that a mapmaker’s work has no value. That understanding geography, learning skills, developing an eye and discernment and the all-important attention to detail—these are no longer necessary. .... The hell with that." www.maproomblog.com/2026/07/gate...

I've been thinking about this a lot because so many of the "THIS is what makes us BETTER THAN THE APES" just fall down over and over! Tools? LOL no. Walking? LOL no. Language? LOL no. MATH? LOL no. Group work? LOL no. My dears we differ "from the apes" in degree, not in kind.
I'm always amused by the way humans fetishize "walking upright," "tool use," and "language" as the iconic features of a superior species. And of course we ignore or downplay the obvious signs of all three in every other species. "They only walk upright SOMETIMES. Not like a true upright walker."
hey guys I don't read this genre but I'm here to revolutionise it. I haven't read a single book that's done this.
"Why don't Americans support this obviously beneficial policy?" 1. It hurts the ultra wealthy 2. It helps Black people 3. It seems gay
GREG DAVIES: seems like a kind of a shit task. Everyone just seems like they're going home normally. ALEX HORNE: well before you say that let's have a look at how Odysseus did. cut to panel of AJAX, MENELAUS, AGAMEMNON, and DIOMEDES who are all staring at ODYSSEUS with his head in his hands
Pretty sure that's the point. The right views international students as somehow stealing America's knowledge and using it to give their home countries an illicit advantage -- rather than as participants in a global interchange of knowledge and perspectives that strengthens everyone.

At this point in time ai is still detectable especially in longer-form pieces and especially in nonfiction but it requires you slow down and think carefully about whether the piece is actually saying something meaningful or simply gesturing at something and letting your brain fill in the gaps.
Ai can be tricky to catch because *on the surface level* it seems fluent and if you're say a slush reader or submissions editor reading a bunch of stuff very quickly it's hard to look at every piece in depth.
BRAND NEW VIDEO: not only my most thorough take-down of these anti-trans talking points, but it explains why women & minority groups are often stereotyped as "contagious" & "excessively sexual." it compiles a decade of my work, so please watch & "like" & share so others see it! youtu.be/rJq9ran4Sdc

Hegseth's mandatory T isn't gender affirming, it's gender enforcing. It's about forcing someone else's idea of gender onto the patient, not supporting the patient's own gender identity. It's more like a trans woman being forced to go through T puberty than a trans man getting a T prescription.
The way AI has been promoted as an access technology at the same time as so many accessibility initiatives (like working from home, hybrid meetings/conferences) are being dismantled is cynical at best.
Before you come to tell me how AI is an access technology/we must not be critical of AI because disabled people use it, please consider: Im disabled/neurodivergent myself. I study/teach at the intersection of disability and technology, and in disability studies Not pulling my critiques from thin air

Lot of people on Tiktok are very sure the Rapture is right around the corner, and I'm just wondering, can I preorder the Mark of the Beast? I worry there will be a rush with everybody trying to get it all at once when the Antichrist establishes his kingdom.
The most fun part of OCD is hearing about someone else's intrusive thought and going "ooh that's a good one, I should try fixating on that sometime."
The problem isn't that they missed the mark, it's that the mark they were aiming at was a bad one.

okay fine i'll read the thing based on the first skim i did i'm not holding my breath, but since we're cited repeatedly i'll engage in good faith.
In a few days, Graham will have a press conference where he sadly strums a lyre and apologizes to the GOP caucus for looking back while leading McConnell out of Hades.
i will say lindsey graham being asked by a reporter how mitch mcconnell is doing, answering “i don’t know, i’m going to check right now” and then dying is hilarious
I have absolutely no argument with the fact that gametic sex is a profoundly important aspect of biology in anisogamous species. And yet it is but one manifestation of sexual differences, *all of which are equally biological*
Historically, a "county" was the realm governed by a Count, so I think we should dump the unwieldy title "County Executive" and start referring to @ace-innamorato.bsky.social as "Count of Allegheny."
never forget that the main thing the american revolution was about was land hunger and dispossessing indigenous people
He said taking the road less traveled "made all the difference," but he never specified *what* difference it made.
Apologies to Robert Frost, but sometimes when you take the road less traveled, you end up living in a hollow tree, making sculptures out of weird bones, and in thrall to the queen of dark fairies. It can happen.
