Fantastic work by @cherilev.bsky.social and her team - truly a joy getting to collaborate with all of them to integrate/adapt their work on treating eating disorders into our digital therapy ecosystem (credit/thanks as always to Michelle Craske ~ UCLA DGC/ADRC). @personalizedtx.bsky.social
This paper touches on the issues of ED. There are a lot of people who are dealing with ED who don't understand the physiology of what's going on when people restrict food, but only see what they want to see from the outside. There should be more education when it comes to food and the human body.
New paper! We show how diet culture & weight stigma are baked into eating disorder treatment—leading to missed diagnoses in higher-weight people, BMI-based denial of care, thin-centric programs, and clinicians unintentionally reinforcing fear of weight gain. www.jandonline.org/action/showP...

If you think they’re building more detention facilities, increasing mass surveillance, and growing the size of ICE just to deport undocumented immigrants, then you haven’t been paying attention. Continuing to fund ICE is enabling what we all know is coming next.
Supremely talented doctoral student Halle Fowler is hoping to put together an ABCT panel related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing suicide prevention or mental health. We have multiple qualitative and quantitative studies on DHH interpretation in mental health settings. We need help finding panelists!
This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again. www.nature.com/immersive/d4...

2025 made one thing undeniable: the systems were never built for people like me. A woman. A mother of young children. A scientist who is loud, who speaks hard truths, who thinks beyond sanctioned boxes, and who refuses to comply with a status quo that harms people.

This year saw almost a 50 percent decrease in funded grants on mental health. This is not okay. There is a literal mental health crisis in our country & instead of funding more work on cures we are cutting the amount of work in half. Our children will suffer from this. archive.is/2025.12.02-2...

A reminder that for every dollar invested in NIH research, ~$1.47 was returned. Investors who aren’t gluttonous pigs would do that deal every day, all day long. Cutting grants is like someone looting one’s stock portfolio (if privileged enough to have one).
