What this reflects is the growing power of the ultra-rich over every aspect of life. Protest is an affront to the power of wealth. So is any politics to the left of an ever-shifting "centrism". So is independent journalism. So are independent universities. One by one, they must all be shut down.
I know this isn't terrorism. You know this isn't terrorism. The authorities know this isn't terrorism. But, once again, they have labelled protesters "terrorists", as part of the long-running programme to ensure that no one dares protest about anything any more. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

I see @plex.tv have decided to make their fire TV app worse rather than fixing all the existing broken stuff, and introducing new broken stuff instead, while jacking their prices up. Are they trying to destroy themselves?!
I went away to France and Spain last week to watch the eclipse, amongst other things. Here's my favourite photo from it!
have we considered just banning these things entirely
Experts say growing trend on sites such as Polymarket and Kalshi could motivate people to start fires to win money
they need you to believe a.i. can hack into things of its own free volition so that investors will keep throwing money at it for being the paradigm shifting singularity or whatever smoke mark andreessen is blowing up people’s asses to get them to open their wallets
these companies were literally testing their models’ ability to engage in illegal hacking with disabled safeguards. the idea that they randomly broke the law and weren’t deliberately put in the position to do so is where the media is failing and unwittingly helping hype a.i.’s abilities.
I don't think a single person could watch this interview and believe that this is a serious person. I get paid to make people laugh and I am significantly less of a Clown than Mary Ann Stephenson. I can't wait until we all look back on this nonsense and just laugh at all these awful bigots.

There now follows a party election broadcast by the Count Binface Party, And if I do say so myself, it's a banger. #VoteBinface #Clacton
Quite impressive to completely undermine your own defence and insult most of your party's elected officials in the same sentence.
It's OK for criminal ex-neo Nazis to run your bins is a hell of a line.

The question in my mind is how out of touch with reality does someone need to be to buy such things during a climate emergency? How many Telegraph editorials add up to a downpayment on one of these contraptions? Or is it a giant Up-Yours to other people and the rest of the living world?
Land Rover also does a Discovery Metropolitan edition. The name suggests it's for use in cities. Because you never know how high the kerb / cyclist / pedestrian you need to mount might be. And because there must be no limit to the pointless environmental harm you inflict.
Climate science denial in physical form. The Land Rover Defender X (yup - they've gone full Musk). Price: £103,460, plus a few kids' lives. 🧵
Looking forward to the following installments in this series of documentaries, like "Clinical depression, or just lazy and dramatic?" and "Is cancer really fatal, or do people just not fight hard enough?" #ADHD #channel4 #FFS
Only just found out about this For the record, you don't get multiple genetic markers and one of the most effective medications known to science with 'social constructs' Channel 4, this is, in scientific parlance, an absolute fu*king disgrace that will genuinely endanger lives #c4 #ADHD
LLMs are used for lots of dumb shit. We're probably in a bubble. The economic stats haven't budged. LLMs still have hallucination problems. But this is real! Donald freakin' Knuth got help solving a problem from Claude 4.6, which is already out of date.

I'm not qualified to judge whether such people are psychopaths. All I can say is that they behave as if they are. From today's Telegraph.
For years, Telegraph columnists told us climate breakdown is a hoax. Now they say: it's real, but it's too late to do anything about it, so let the bodies pile high (again). Just one long list of excuses not to reduce fossil fuel use. Such newspapers bear as much responsibility as the oil firms.

Friend referred me to Monzo for work, they sent out a form, but before I could send all my details they cancelled it. Turns out they looked for my linked in profile, just decided I wasn't experienced enough for the job based on that and rejected me straight away. What a shitty practice!

We are done with being disappointed by Labour. Up and down the country, Greens are stepping up to offer something more. Something hopeful. I'm so proud of @geraldinecoggins.bsky.social - the next Mayor of Greater Manchester!
