Proud Milton Keynesian and Labour MP for MK North. Can't spell, views my own.

We’re acting to support those who can’t rely on help from the bank of Mum and Dad. Our Your First Home scheme will help more families get their first rung on the housing ladder with a deposit of just 2.5%. Less to save upfront and lower monthly costs. Help is on the way for first-time buyers.

Certainly not the headline, but just an astonishing story that illustrates why it's so difficult to get things done. If people demand a *second review* into allow staff in number 10 to copy and paste, after a demand from the PMs CofS, no wonder we can't build a high speed railway line.

Imagine having 9 billion to spend to cut taxes (which we don't actually have) and thinking the best use of it is cutting inheritance tax, which does nothing for growth, and which most people will never pay.

'...we need a new financial model for high street regeneration to ensure that every postcode benefits.' > good piece by @jacktshaw.bsky.social and @chriscurtis94.bsky.social, emphasising the need for ongoing need public investment in town centres to help reimagine their purpose and structure.

Chris Curtis MP @chriscurtis94.bsky.social and Jack Shaw @jacktshaw.bsky.social argue that once retail-heavy high-streets need 'beetroots, bowling alleys and botox' to survive. www.arguably.uk/p/can-the-br...

I have written to the Market Research Society and the British Polling Council asking them to launch a full investigation into the conduct of JL Partners, following the story covered on Channel 4 news. Full letter below.

I will post a full copy of the letter on my website later with link in follow up tweet as too many characters for here.I will post a full copy of the letter on my website later with link in follow up tweet as too many characters for here.

To put it another way Binface won the same % that the (very good) Britain Predicts model thought all the other main parties collectively would have got had they stood. So we can assume that had they stood Farage would have done far worse than expected based on polling/demographics.

Wow this is a bad result for Farage. In the most Reform friendly seat in the country should get more than this - and Binface’s result shows once again that the centre and left will vote for literally anyone to try and stop him.

The partial eclipse will be underwhelming but it’s nothing compared to how they look on Mars. Look at this. Absolute dogshit. The Moon is the best satellite in the solar system. 10/10. Based compared to those absolute cucks Phobos and Deimos.

People who listen to Times Radio, read the Spectator, or morning newsletters get a disproportionate amount of political leaders attention. That's fine, but it doesn't seem unreasonable to try and rebalance towards people with busy lives who don't do those things.

Astonished by this. He claims the system has "evolved" into something that is unjustifiable. It hasn't, this is how he set it up, and many of these consequences were pointed out at the time. He whacked unjustifiable marginal tax rates on young people while cutting them for the richest.

Nick Clegg is urging people to "man the barricades" when it comes to "indefensible" tuition fees... The fees he helped introduce. "Im sure the generation of graduates paying tax rates of nigh on 50% will be terribly grateful for his conversion... of his conversion".
