I am Scottish. My husband and I voted for the party proposing we pay higher taxes on our hard-earned higher income. Our kids benefit from the 'no tuition fees' policy. We are happy pay a little more so all of Scotland's youngsters get the same start. Education should not be a burden. #CommonWeal

We are bankrupting our young people and saddling them with mountains of debt even before life has opened up to them. Wealthy families will pay it off. Most will have this financial albatross round their necks for years.

if you are any kind of creative or artist or writer you *have* to understand sex workers and porn/erotica artists/authors as being members of the same class as us. to the extent society recognizes a difference between "legitimate" art and porn, it's only as a tenuous, convenient, temporary fiction.

This goes for all art. All mediums. As others have said: it’s not enough to be anti AI art. You also have to be PRO the art you like if you want it to continue to exist. Like indie comics? Buy them. Support the artists. Attend local fairs/cons. Share. Tell others. Leave reviews.

Okay, good news, I think I've managed a relatively elegant solution for the mechanics of my UFO Chase solo journaling game 👀 They're actually gamey! And they require decision and allow for player agency!

My general attitude is that if mediocre white dudes with the personality of wet sandpaper rubbed in doo-doo can make it in this industry then everybody and anybody both can and should. Go work on your comics and share them with the world.

I stopped going to all-hands after I handed my notice in, and so the last six months for me has been relatively senior-management-nonsense-free But I did see some Teams Chats that followed one such all-hands. It looked like people were being told to go back to the main office.

this is a pretty good microcosm of how things in big tech have changed over the past few years is this really important? no, but "what's in the microkitchens" is an easy way to make people feel special, which is something that used to be very important in big tech now it's "sit down and shut up"
