I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

Our local ABC affiliate is owned by Disney. Serving all of SE Pennsylvania (Philly & burbs), Southern NJ and Delaware. If the FCC shuts it down, uh… Well, let’s just say that I’d expect the area will express extreme, possibly deviantly and/or violently creative displeasure with that decision.

I've known and worked with and gotten arrested alongside ACTUAL tough union guys and their response to hearing about a sexual assault isn't "oh cool my kind of guy" It's "what's his address I'm going to pay him a little visit"
Since Dems took over the PA State House with a 102-101 majority in 2023 we have had 17 special elections for vacant seats. Our nomination process is simple: the local Democratic committees meet and recommend; state party executive committee ratifies their choice. And we have not lost one seat.
Andy Craig@andycraig.bsky.social · 4w agoIt is not undemocratic, not even a little bit, for a candidate to voluntarily drop out of a race and be replaced by their party using the legal procedure that exists for that purpose. Don't concede the premise as if you have to dress it up somehow and apologize for a party being a party.
Waiting for the point when the mad orange king gets angry enough to start treating Catholics like Muslims. Should be interesting…

So, it’s all theater, but, isn’t “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” a bit load bearing? Declaring a whole bunch of people in the country as *not* subject to the jx they’re in feels like it’s opening a can of worms.
