Live in BCS #462; podcast 363 "Dreams in Burnished Silver" @christinehanolsy.com "pressed a tiny metal disc into my hand as we passed: a minuscule mirror that captured my image in parts; a freckle here, an eyelash there. In return, I gave you my name." www.beneath-ceaseless-skies.com/stories/drea...

New story day! This one is inspired, very loosely, by George MacDonald’s 19th century fairy tale “The Day Boy and the Night Girl.” It took me nearly two years to get right, and I’m glad I allowed the time. Many thanks to editor Scott Andrews for his patience and for believing in this story.

When the evening bell rang, we filed past each other once more, and this time I kept my chin lifted. You found me right away, pressed a tiny metal disc into my hand as we passed: a minuscule mirror th...

Please repost! I am looking for a rogue W*nd*ws tech support person. Will pay. 😂 Details below, but the TL:DR is, I need someone other than M*cr*s*ft to call when my W*nd*ws decides to throw a tantrum.

It's Sunday! I'm at a coffee shop doing some work. I'm guessing some of y'all are out there, putting words down, doing edits, sending in submissions, getting critiques, revising queries, and more...! So, quick reminder: *Rejection* DOES NOT MEAN you are a bad writer!!! Keep. Going. ❤️‍🔥

Are you ready for your heart to be broken? I promise you, you are not. Go read this beautifully powerful story anyway, about mothers and daughters and yearning and the things we can and cannot bring ourselves to do and the places that seep into our bones despite our efforts to leave them behind.

The places we come from can have a hold on us that lingers, long after we've left. Do you belong to the place, or does it belong to you? Does it matter, when it calls? "Little Fish, Big Fish" by Jennifer Hudak dives deep into all of this:

Steve, the guy who came to fix our washing machine tonight, looks so much like Bud the refrigerator repair guy from Grimm that my wife and I can’t stop staring. 😅 (pic of Bud; I didn’t feel comfortable snapping a photo of Steve)

Bud Wurstner, the character from the TV show Grimm. A middle aged white man with light brown hair and goatee.

Aaaahhh I’m so excited for my latest story to come out at BCS! Pick up the new issue now, or stay tuned for a direct link.

TEENAGERS omg. Mom: Hey N, I know you just got up [it’s 10am] but could you empty your camp bag & put stuff in the laundry so I can wash it before you go back tomorrow? N: OH MY GOD WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS SO RUDE. YOU ALWAYS DO THIS. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE SO CRITICAL ALL THE TIME. <bursts into tears>
