Speechless at this one. Genuinely blew me away, fantastic work @elijah.mea.rs! If you read this story and didn’t like it I’m stealing something from your house.

Americans, finally pissed enough, start eating their politicians. (Yes, it's a love story.) "Saul & Noah's Hot Bouleutophagy Summer" by @elijah.mea.rs has: 🚗two boys in a beater at the end of society ❤️queer love 🗽courage vs American fascists 🦺a safe zone? www.adventitious.net/stories/saul...

Got inspired by some of the authors I saw at Lavender Con this past weekend and spent tonight working on designing a little zine with some of my older stories that are out of exclusivity... 👀

Screenshot of a two-page spread in InDesign. The left page, page 2, shows an illustration of a coconut crab and the base of a tree. The right page, page 3, shows the beginning of the story "The Memory of You is Contained in the Crab Rave" beneath a crab emoji.

New story day! This one is inspired, very loosely, by George MacDonald’s 19th century fairy tale “The Day Boy and the Night Girl.” It took me nearly two years to get right, and I’m glad I allowed the time. Many thanks to editor Scott Andrews for his patience and for believing in this story.

Beneath Ceaseless Skies - Dreams in Burnished Silver by Christine Hanolsy

When the evening bell rang, we filed past each other once more, and this time I kept my chin lifted. You found me right away, pressed a tiny metal disc into my hand as we passed: a minuscule mirror th...

Okay, seeing The Odyssey in about an hour and a half. I'm always super nervous about Classics adaptations but I'm cautiously optimistic based on the rave reviews, so... we'll see!

Really glad to see Team Bona standing up for human authors *and* making sure that others can benefit from what they've learned here—and I'm as excited as ever to be able to share "Attack of the 50-Foot Faggot!" with everyone when Wrath Month finally smashes through your window later this year!

AI fraud nearly derailed our next anthology. Today we’re talking about what went down, the things we missed, and publishing the report we wish we’d had when it happened. Read all about it on our new blog, and download the full report:

I've got a new story coming out in Adventitious next month... and I can't wait for you to taste it 👀

A market which shall remain nameless rejected a story set in fantasy Appalachia and told me they would have accepted it but that it had "too much dialect." There was, like, maybe one "ain't" in the whole story? And one time calling a valley a holler and that was basically it for "dialect."

If you see this, please tell me the worst/most baffling bit of creative feedback you've ever recieved. Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.
