I don’t know how it should be done, I’m not an economics person, but we have to figure out a way to pay certain jobs - teachers, nurses, air traffic controllers, etc. - a lot more, simply because those jobs are so critical for our society to function

had a death in the family and was almost completely off the internet for a few days & my observation is that there is too much happening too fast such that basic facts abt the world are difficult to ascertain unless you are mainlining info all the time & doing that seems to drive people insane

I was curious who did the sound design for Stardew Valley because it’s so satisfying and I looked it up and learned that one (1) guy made that whole fucking game for funsies to try to learn C# I feel sick to my stomach

The total amount of money that has gone to NASA since its inception is $1.8 trillion, by the way. You could double NASA’s 2026 budget, give that amount of money to NASA for the next 25 years, and you still wouldn’t match $1.5 trillion.

U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1.5 trillion. Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed EIGHT straight audits. The military industrial complex is cheering today.
