Will be hiring in the new year, hit me up if you have students you think would be a good fit and interested in doing protein systems biology projects!
🍾Funded! Almost can't believe it! 2 (!!) FWO Grants (the max. allowed/PI) allowing us to deploy our proteomics toolkit to 1️⃣ better understand how viruses 🦠 interact with their insect vectors and plants and 2️⃣ understand circadian clock ⏰ gene regulation under changing environments! www.mehta-lab.com

Scientists, academics, researchers: We’re excited to share that @altmetric.com is now tracking mentions of your research on Bluesky! 🧪
There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research. A Place of Joy.
🧂SALT🧂 The other day I wrote about the marvellous story behind road salt. But it turns out there's even more surprises when you consider the OTHER type of salt - the kind you sprinkle on your chips. Might seem humdrum, but, even today, it's still one of the most important substances in the world...
Amazing to see PTI and ETI suppression taking place from same Aphid. I'm imagining the evolutionary arms race that led to this 😍 Congrats to Team Hogenhout. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
The conserved aphid saliva chemosensory protein effector Mp10 targets plant AMSH deubiquitinases at cellular membranes to suppress pattern-triggered immunity
Chemosensory proteins (CSPs) are a conserved family present in insects and other arthropods, recognized for their critical roles in both intra- and interspecies communication. However, the functional ...

Hey Bluesky! just posted on lab automation on X - will try it here too 😀 Arya Lipman asked "life sciences automation seems to only be working in limited use cases (unless I'm missing it) - companies have burned a lot of cash on robots that sit idle. what's next / where is the opportunity here?" 🧵
