What does 'AI dominance,' or 'winning the AI race' mean? How is it measured? In terms of who makes the biggest profit? Or in terms,of the spread or depth of application? Or of how intelligent it is (if so, how is this measured/which scale is used)? How is this a good thing? Someone please explain.

It curious that press inside the Gulf region is reporting on a tactical retreat of US forces from outposts in Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain and other localities. But there are no statements from the Pentagon about this, not any discussion in US media... which is generally poorly informed anyway.

I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

It's much, much easier and more emotionally gratifying to divide into tribes where the only demand on your creativity is finding new ways to express how awful the other tribe is, than to build a society that works for everyone. We've got both going on now, which explains some of the frustration.
