So the dumbest mfers on the planet are suing my friend for defamation cause she was outspoken about not wanting their racist festival in her local community. It is a clear and obvious attempt to silence their critics with costly frivolous lawsuits, and wear them down emotionally and financially.

NEW FROM ME: the organisers of the Mise Éire Festival are suing Ocean FM and Leitrim activist Meryl McGowan over a radio interview in which they allege McGowan defamed them leftinthelurch.net/2026/07/31/m...

Before he scurried away, this propaganda was circulated by the Government to schools from Michael Healy Rae. Himself (surprise-surprise!) who profits from sitka spruce — just as he does whenever he gives his opinion on petrol/diesel or drink driving laws. 📰 www.leitrimobserver.ie/news/leitrim...

An image from Fintan Kelly/Linkedin published by the Leitrim Observer illustrating a book circulated to Irish schools by Michael Healy Rae when a Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine with special responsibility for Forestry, Farm Safety and Horticulture.

I spoke to @newstalkfm.bsky.social yesterday about fires, land use and the urgent need for native forests on our hills www.newstalk.com/podcasts/hig...

Three people died in car crashes over the weekend, unknown how many were injured. The number of road traffic fatalities in 2026 surpassed the TOTAL for 2025 a few weeks ago, only halfway through the year. Could we expand the conversation to include that? www.garda.ie/en/roads-pol...

Table from Garda.ie detailing total road facilities, 92 in 2025 and 105 to date in 2026 as of July 24th, 2026.

The Dublin Lord Mayor wants to ban legal e-bikes from all GAA club grounds?! Populist banana politics at its finest. Legal e-bikes help people leave the car at home and make active travel accessible. This is a spectacularly stupid notion.

It’s become easy to feel detached from reality with the horrors of the news cycle over the last few years, IMO. Following the case of the ‘Ulm 5’ has been unsettling, but this thread from the POV of a friend lands the sinister and alarming nature of what’s happening and indeed *not* happening.

As a small addendum, there's a fundraiser to help Daniel's family with the costs associated and I'm sure they'd be incredibly grateful for any donations Not the point of the thread, I just wanted to share my experience, but if you're feeling fired up and ready to help, here's an easy way to do so

On a replacement bus from Limerick to Sixmilebridge coz the 18:00 Dublin to Cork train left 45mins late. We only found out what our fate would be when we arrived in Limerick, zero info at Limerick Junction or prior. BUT THEY HAVE A WATER FOUNTAIN NOW!

Maybe the reason FFFG haven’t “fast-tracked” the Galway M50 is because they know it won’t improve the traffic and mobility issues around the city. More roads = more vehicles. Just look at the damned M50. Who would want to put their name to a project destined to fail?

€10k for 88 roller blinds is good value. The same again on the C19 embroidered silk curtains doesn’t shock me. I was quoted over €2k just to *make* a pair of plain polyester ones to measure for the front window of my ex-council house last year. We remain curtainless 🤪

Farmleigh bills detail €69,000 spend on blinds, conservation of antique curtains and a portrait bought at auction. Our latest set of FOI records: www.thestory.ie/2026/07/23/f...
