Coming up just after midnight, we reveal how a draft version of the government’s recent data centre report included several key aspects which questioned continued investment in the sector but were later cut from the final version released to the public. Read on thejournal.ie 🔜

I've decided we're living through a paradox where the water and atmosphere that "used to" be on Mars were destroyed by future tech billionaires actually managing to get there but fucking up a time travel experiment shortly after they ruined that planet too

A Ancylometes by the riverside. Now these spiders, which were once in the Ctenidae, are now in their own family, the Ancylometidae. They are still big and awesome though!

A boldly marked wolf like spider, dark brown and cream, with yellow highlights, facing the camera. She is big!

"Russia must pay for destruction it has caused," warned European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen. Agree 100%. Now try saying this out loud: "Israel must pay for destruction it has caused," warned von der Leyen. Otherwise, this is absolutely rank hypocrisy. www.rte.ie/news/world/2...

First policy when I'm dictator is to introduce a flat per M2 value on derelict properties. If your property is classified as derelict you can't charge more than the flat rate. If you don't sell it or fix it within 2 years, the state gets to buy it at a fraction of that rate.

It's fun living in a freshly cleaned apartment like my life is a game of Jenga. Praying the thing I put on the kitchen counter "for just a few minutes while I finish this thing" won't trigger an avalanche of cumulative bad habits that leads to the whole fucking place collapsing into chaos again

My office is like the home decor version of The Picture of Dorian Gray. If I ever invite you over and the rest of the house is spotlessly clean, I implore you to stay out of my office. We're talking horrors that would get me on one of those "fix your shitty life" TV shows

just a reminder the cathaoirleach of the AI committee has stock in a AI-based revenue intelligence company. Naoise insists the stock – whose value is only realisable if the company goes public – is not a conflict of interest for him as a TD forming AI legislation www.ontheditch.com/fianna-fail-...

Every time a new supermarket outlet opens in Ireland, there's a big article in the local paper about the jobs that will be created (but nothing about the jobs lost in local butchers, greengrocers, bakeries etc., who they're targetting). And after the big announcement, they start replacing those jobs

Happened to hear the Lord Mayor of Dublin talking about e-scooters on Radio 1. He said that people in social housing should be banned from using one! WTF? He wasn't put off when told that this was discrimination. He just doubled down muttering about anti social behaviour! #Ireland #SpéirGhorm

This is misleading. If you say the Rhine’ s “water levels drop to lowest level since 1880,” that implies that the river was this dry in 1880. But 1880 is just when we started keeping records! So what you need to say is: the river is at its lowest level since records began.

So some of you may have heard I've reached mid-life and I just wanted to say, if anyone is thinking of getting me a crisis, thank you but no. I know it's traditional, but I already have more crises than I know what to do with.
